For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello, I am having a vegetable meet up with Guad, she's walking her ds around the block. I have made tiffin, but also courgette cake to make it 10/10 - but it's burning on top and runny in the middle so fear it'll be no good.

MamaG · 28/10/2008 13:47

is it still cooking? Put some greaseproof paper on top of it and turn the temp down

Boco · 28/10/2008 13:49

ah, ok. I just threw paint at you on another thread, I wipe it off now in gratitude.

MamaG · 28/10/2008 14:02

Yes you did you little fucker

I GUSHED about your pic as well!

TooTIfYouAreScared · 28/10/2008 14:10

Boco, please tell Guad she is a darling for saving me from the leftover chocolate icing and that I will email her later.
Have a lovely afternoon

OsmosisBOOnana · 28/10/2008 14:25

'yes you did you little fucker' - genius, impending baby making you narky MamaG?

I don't mean 'brilliant let's all gang up on Boco and call her names' but swearing makes me ROFL. I'm very mature like that.

I have no kitchen, just some manky tiles and a sink hanging off the wall cos I don't want to risk flooding the house. DH can do that.

Cool huh??? I dismantled a whole kitchen.

hammouhouseofhorror · 28/10/2008 14:28

Just reread my posts from the weekend....wasn't I a grumpy*. sorreeeeee.
Never tried courgette cake Boco..sounds intriguing.
Been to work and am now very sleepy, the sofa calls my name.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

TooTIfYouAreScared · 28/10/2008 14:36

Mou, you didn't strike me as overly grumpy

The sky has darkened dramatically and there is much raining. With hail. It was SUNNY this morning!!

OsmosisBOOnana · 28/10/2008 14:38

We've just had hail, thunder and ligtning.

The thunder was so loud all the car alarms on the street went off! DD slept through of course!

TooTIfYouAreScared · 28/10/2008 14:40

Ah, another determined sleeper. Dd2 recently slept through a percussion session which involved children making "as much noise as they could" in an echoey hall.

Ooh, lightning!

MamaG · 28/10/2008 16:31

os-ba I'm afraid thats my normal posting manner, I try to be a bit nicer on F&V threads

hammouhouseofhorror · 28/10/2008 16:42

Blimey..I just woke up, slept for 2 hrs . somebody broke in and trashed my house.....
Oh no, it's just DD! well she did let me sleep. poor neglected baby.
Mou jumps off Mn and tries to shove everything in a cupboard tidy up quickly.

OsmosisBOOnana · 28/10/2008 16:51

Ah, children....

I had a little nap on the sofa (well, a doze really, I could hear DD rummaging around) t'other day, but due to severe nature of tummy bug I didn't dare roll over to watch her.

When I eventually did I discovered she had covered one of our rather nice, new armchairs in her excema cream.

Lovely! And so easy to get off!!

Never trust a quiet child.

TigerFeet · 28/10/2008 17:16

Am mostly offline due to brokenness of my laptob (sob) am on dh's atm whilst he's out, it's his work one so unavailable when I normally poot (sobs some more)

F&V not good

Must do better

Precicely on eweek after dd's nasty fall she is completely better(oterh than chipped tooth) it is utterly amazing how quickly she heals

MamaG have been thinking of you x

MamaG · 28/10/2008 17:17

Glad DD is better TF, amazing how quickly they bounce back isn't it

hammouhouseofhorror · 28/10/2008 17:20

Laptop healing vibes to TF.

TigerFeet · 28/10/2008 17:25

LAptop faring less well than daughter unfortunately it needs to go to the menders but I need dh to ring the insurance first to see if they will cough up for it (they won't speak to me, am not named on policy [fifties housewife])

Yesterday I drove to Newcastle. Today I drove back. Am knackered. Went with drippy colleague who couldn't share the driving because she hates driving on roads she doesn't know. Consoled self last night with wine.

Haven't been on MN for a week I see more rats regulars are leaving

TooTIfYouAreScared · 28/10/2008 18:16

Oh dear TF, have a hug {{{{{{{}}}}}}}

daisy99malign · 28/10/2008 19:03

TF - LOL at you "poot"ing on MN
I think more should and it will be good!

FMF thanks for kind name words, I didn't mean to sound needy!

Osba - no kitchen - crikey you are bold!

good luck

and MamaG - I don't want to see any fanjo pictures either - suddenly there is vested interest in good luck and get going vibes!

F&V

Apple
raspberry
satsuma
carrots
sweetcorn

butternut to come

Pants day, having childcare problemo big time and work getting tough....

OsmosisBOOnana · 28/10/2008 19:15

yes, bold is one word. Foolish, stupid, hoping for lots of takeaway maybe more accurate.

I have just attempted my first meal, wash up and DD bedtime with no kitchen / sink / work surface and am already going mental.

It'll only be a few months weeks hopefully. I shall just remind myself of my bestfriend who lived in a bus in dried up ol river bed in Spain for 3 years. Now that would drive me insane. I would have to have a separate 'kitchen bus' to survive.

Am hoping it prompts DH to suggest we go to my folks for xmas after all!!

daisy99malign · 28/10/2008 19:18

Ah, yes, the whole no kitchen thing!

we did a year with a sink, a baby belling two ring and a table (for everthing) the second 6 months of which was with DS

I remember boiling a kettle for his bath on the table while trying to make supper and keep the dog at bay giving him food so he didn't jump onto table and join DS in bath/ run off with clean clothes - both favourite tricks

Those happy days

looks round proper kitchen and sighs with relief

LoveandRockets · 28/10/2008 19:22

mama G you cheeky mare i was patient

just checking up on you all, still fruity and bitching, i hope

LoveandRockets · 28/10/2008 19:23

Boco · 28/10/2008 19:24

Had a lovely day with Guad, but poor thing is stuck by the side of the road having narrowly missed being in an accident.

It's frreeeeezing.

Courgette and chocolate cake and tiffin big success!

Very excited by lovely mners support with the drawing - am having plans and ideas and feeling quite optimistic.

LoveandRockets · 28/10/2008 19:26
