This is what I'm talking about

And there are podcasts for your mp3 player to help.

Anyone feel like a bit of mutual motivation?

I'm feeling better - sore throat seems to have mostly disappeared. That echinacea must be good stuff!

Will go out again tomorrow - rain or no rain!

andiem · 07/10/2008 08:01

I'm off out this morning am going to run back from the nursery after dropping ds2 off rain or o rain

BlessThisMess · 07/10/2008 12:31

Argh, had another really tough run. Went the same route as Sunday when I felt like I had energy to spare. Today I felt within the first minute that I wanted to stop and had no energy.

In the end, I did a 9 min run, 3 min walk, 4 min run, 5 min walk, 5 min run and 13 min walk, totalling 39 mins for the 5K!! Each run I was absolutely pushing myself to keep going for as long as possible - there just wasn't any energy in my legs!!! I wonder why that is?

andiem · 07/10/2008 13:38

you did well though btm don't give yourself a hard time
did my run ok this morning will be off out again on thurs

LaTourEiffel · 07/10/2008 13:43

BTM - Dont suppose you've considered what you ate on Sunday before the run, not immediately before obviously.. Did you have porridge for breakfast or a banana or something perhaps?

Or maybe its worth trying something like that anyway, as your doing so much more running maybe your body needs a bit of an energy boost?

I think you have to eat it just over an hour before the run to get the benefit but am sure the running sites will have more info..

Just a thought!

Well done everyone on your week 3 runs - my first one will be tomorrow. I have a stinking cold at the moment so I'm not looking forward to that side of it, but I am kind of curious to see how I'm going to get on - personally I think its going to finish me off!!

kiwibella · 07/10/2008 21:15

have fun tomorrow Eiffel! Well done andiem... and to you also BTM - the duration of your runs is amazing.

I always stuff a couple of biscuits in my gob before I go out!!! I usually run when dh gets in so it makes it a loooong time until dinner. I find that I eat for africa when I get in.... usually lots of fruit.

LaTourEiffel · 08/10/2008 21:06

Pants, have had to duck out of today's run, my cold is quite a lot worse and am running a temperature. We go on holiday a week on Saturday so would rather rest up and get better. As soon as its cleared i'll get back out there though .

Its my chest that hurts the most and with it hurting last time I wen tout, def. think its best to leave it for now. How's everyone else doing?

giddykipper · 08/10/2008 22:15

I had to duck out tonight because DP was late home from work, so we ate late, which made it too late to go out once my food had gone down. I don't like being out after 10pm. I'm going to try to go out tomorrow night but I think he might be late again.

vibes to all those suffering from colds.

Still feeling energy-less. I had half a thought to go out this morning but knew when I got up that I just wouldn't have it in me, even though I went to bed at 9.30pm last night!

There's nothing I can do about it though - will just have to hope I wake up feeling energetic on Sunday!!

I have a doctor's appointment in 10 days time after having a load of blood tests - part of me hopes there is something wrong as that would explain it! If there's nothing supposedly wrong, I will be very puzzled as to what it's all about!

kiwibella · 09/10/2008 13:59

I am sure that you will be full of beans on Sunday, BTM! You have such purpose for running in this event.

Hope everyone is feeling better today. Dh is away for work so no running for me. Maybe tomorrow?

giddykipper · 10/10/2008 20:04

Managed another week 3 run last night, just about dragged my sorry bones around.

Good luck for Sunday BTM!

Thanks, Giddy!

Have not been out again since Tues. I could just tell I didn't have it in me to run. Am v. much hoping the good few days rest will mean I feel energetic on Sunday, but am not too sure .

Still, I'm most pleased that I have raised over £300 in sponsorship for LHM - that's the important thing!

andiem · 11/10/2008 10:03

morning all just done my first run of week 2 wasn't too bad once I got going

blissieblue · 11/10/2008 11:36

Can I join you?
Thought it might be too late but when I saw your post andiem, I've just done my 1st run of week 2 too! Bit harder than last week obviously but feel really good for it now. Just had a look ahead at what I should be doing in a few weeks and hard to believe I'll ever manage it.

giddykipper · 11/10/2008 12:03

Welcome blissie!

We're all going at slightly different paces so come and join us. Some like Bliss are showing us all up by running a proper race tomorrow!

kiwibella · 12/10/2008 10:56

GO BLESSTHISMESS!!! It's a glorious day here... hope you have the same sunshine and are running for your life .

andiem · 12/10/2008 14:51

how did you get on btm?

BlessThisMess · 12/10/2008 19:54

I did it!!!!

There was a stonking great hill mountain in the middle which went on and on and on so though I started to run up it I just had to stop and walk. I did the whole thing in 37 minutes and just the one walk in the middle of maybe 5-7 minutes. After the walk bit it was nearly all downhill and a bit of flat.

I did tell my runner friend who stayed round the course with me after about 1.5k that I would have stopped and walked at that point if she had not been there to keep me going!

We had good weather but not too hot which was good because I really do end up looking like a beetroot even when I run in the cold!!!

LaTourEiffel · 12/10/2008 22:06

Well done BTM! Fab job!

I still haven't started my week 3 running, I stopped coz of my cold then was admitted to hospital on Friday night suffering from 'biliary colic' - or passing a gallstone. I'm home again now and feeling fine, just not really sure what happens next.

In order to prevent another attack I've got to stick to a low fat diet, but there's no reason not to keep running, which is cool. The running along with the enforced diet should speed the weightloss up too. Just not sure what effect it could have on ttc till I've seen the doctor.

As I've had quite a break from it, and am going to be very busy this week getting ready to fly on holiday next week, I think I'll just do a repeat of week 2 then look to doing maybe one run of week 2 when I get back and then on with week 3.

BlessThisMess · 12/10/2008 22:11

Oh no, poor you Eiffel. That sounds nasty.

The week 2 plan sounds good.

Where are you going on holiday?
