For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Are you nervous FK?

BBBee · 07/09/2008 19:10

mine both loved reception (foundation - whatever) - lots of free play and books and paint. Took a while to get used to the 'everydayness' of it all.

What have you got planned for tomorrow? It needs to be a good involved plan, otherwise it will go the way of moping.

littlerach · 07/09/2008 19:11

FK, dd2 starts on Friday (crazy day to start, but hey ho).
She is tiny.
Her trousers trail on the ground and they are age 3-4.
But she is so excited.

Guadalupe · 07/09/2008 19:13

look at these

Aren't they amazing? How can you do so much detail on sugar ffs?

I am sure JJ is not depressed, 100x, though it does sound like he has had fun.

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2008 19:40

They are quite alarming. Imagine eating them

Guadalupe · 07/09/2008 19:55

No, I don't think I could one, I would just look at for ages.

I am going to retire early I think. Goodnight.

Guadalupe · 07/09/2008 19:56

EAT

IT

That's not eat the baby, just the missing words.

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 20:24

this is very surreal. Even for one of our threads. 100 you have cheered me up enormously with your dog lady. That is brilliant, I am lolling.

Those babies are odd. I care not for marzipan.

BBbeee- yes, I do leftovers and salad and salad cream too. But tomorrow I shall have cold chicken with chickpeas and bean salad au vinigrette. With blackberries and rasps for pud. And the next day I will have salad nicoise. And then it will all go to pot....and I will eat biscuits

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 20:25

Those babies have also reminded me I need to buy icing for my dad's cake. I am supposed to be creating a cananl boat masterpiece
I'm tolerably good at cake decorating but not without a picture to copy from.

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 20:35

JJ has probaly just missed you and is sulking in case you're going to make a habit of sending him to batty dog-lovers. She probably tried to make him wear doggy pyjamas or something.
Or wear frilly pants and a baby bonnet

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 20:36

I'll just sit here by myselkf and think of a new title then, shall I??

Anyone?

hellllooooo?

FrayedKnot · 07/09/2008 20:41

DS says he's excited about tomorrow.

However, I am nervous that he will wobble when we get there.

He is only going in the afternoons for the first three weeks, so I won;t have time to mope. I might go to the gym or clean out a cupboard. Something busy, anyway.

We are used to being away from each other, because he's been going to nursery every day since he was 2, but this is different

The babies were weird..I couldn;t eat one.

FrayedKnot · 07/09/2008 20:45

Hello Filth

Your supper sounded lovely

I made a lasagne but ran out of steam for pudding

What's happened to TTB? Did someone let her out?

I keep thinking about Stuffit too, wonder how she is getting on. She might have sunshine

pointydog · 07/09/2008 20:59

There is obv a long tradition of taking dogs on a picnic. See here. 1955, you know. They look like they've enjoyed a cheese rolling too.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/09/2008 21:10

Hello again

The other Dragons went out earlier and then came back and evicted me. When I came back there was a surprise party with DH, DS, DD, my sister and her DH .

We ate party tea, played musical bumps and statues, pass the parcel and pin the tail on the cat. Was all very good fun .

Am feeling more positive now

womblingalong · 07/09/2008 22:08

Hello Veggers,

Idris, I haven't chatted to you for ages Happy Birthday!

F&V today has been quite good, unbelievably:

Blackberries with dried pineapple, dates and raisins for brekkie with spelt cereal (2)

Lunch Thai curry and stirfry : onion, bambooshoots, pea aubergines, baby aubergines, peppers, mushrooms. Nectarine (3)

Dinner: Chapatti's with spinach, onion and tomato curry, and pea and potato curry. Yum! O.J. (5)

SuperBunny · 08/09/2008 04:00

Oh Lully (hug)

What a lovley DD, Boco but lol @ your competitiveness

Babies are v good. A bit too life-like for me though

Glad you had a lovely day, Idirs. FK, hope first day goes well.

Did Franny have the day off?

Is JJ feeling better? My dog would always be depressed for about a week after we picked him up from the kennel. He'd mooch in a corner and not make eye contact and huff and puff a lot. Then he'd suddenly be ok again.

Am feeling glum.

womblingalong · 08/09/2008 10:30

Oh UR, soory to hear you're glum, what's up?

MamaG · 08/09/2008 12:04

sounds like you had a lovely birthday idris

Happy belated birthday from me - when is boco's birthday?

littlerach · 08/09/2008 12:08

Morning all.

Apple and currant muffin.
Museli
OJ
Pear.

rather good start

Lot so fdd2's friends started school today, and she watched them all go in.
She was v brave not to go with them!!

Idris, that sounded cool. I think I'd like a party like thta.

IdrisTheDragon · 08/09/2008 12:10

Birthday is today - think I may have confused people slightly

Am going to have lunch out on my own when DD is at pre-school .

And then going to a prom this evening - DH and I will be doing swop the children at the train station near here and I will then be going as fast as possible to the prom.

MamaG · 08/09/2008 12:21

Oh happy birthday Idris enjoy your lunch

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2008 13:15

Have lovely lovely day Idris.

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2008 13:16

now come on fruity bitches, we need a new thread title.

FrayedKnot · 08/09/2008 13:45

Happy Birthday Idris!! Hope you enjoy your lunch

Littlerach are they doing a staggered intake then? Poor DD2, it must be a bit confusing.

DS is at school right now...I am neither clearing out a cupboard nor at the gym

Just having a gentle siesta and a strong cup of tea

Wombling your food sounded delicious!

UR I fear our glumness was contagious what's up?

We had sun here today. Real sun! For about an hour. DS has a theory that when it isn't sunny here, the sun is being sunny somehwere else....a most sensible theory I think

Now, I have just over an hour....what shall I do?
