For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello anyone who is here

Not a significant birthday, although if our German visitor this week is to be believed it is a lucky one (can't remember what the word for it was, but it is two digits the same. And not 22 or 44.

Not sure who techittothelimitis, but could be FMV as she was playing around on that thread.

DH fell asleep on the sofa two hours ago. He has gone to bed.

berolina · 06/09/2008 23:33

hello all

Idris, the word you want is 'Schnapszahl' (I think) - tranlates as 'schnaps[/any-sort-of-strong-alcohol] number' Sorry about angstiness.

I must go to bed.

IdrisTheDragon · 06/09/2008 23:56

That was the word - thank you bero

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IDRIS!

morning

I would put fz onthe helping thread for helping out my diet but don't do that kind of thing.

Someone has put 'BBB' on that thread but I don;t think it is me because I don't do a lot of helping and I am hardly here - has made me a bit though - is there another BBB? I got confused when you all (esp. carrit and fz) were talking about how lovely 'bees' were all the time!

oh you naughty veggers - I tried on THE MOST WONDERFUl green coat yesterday - it was all felty and fitted. I want it. I bought a new coat last winter. I don;t need it.

so far I have had a cup of tea.

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 09:26

I know BBB, I hve a perfectly nice coat but is black and I always feel so gloomy in winter. I WANT A GREEN COAT!!

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 09:29

Lullabyloo · 07/09/2008 10:19

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 10:21

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 10:23

with franny lurking having little break, do we need to start thinking of some more titles?

Lullabyloo · 07/09/2008 10:27

£240???????????
gulp
Where are they going?

Dont suppose you wear pale blue?
Have a chunky grey/blue Monsoon cardigan with large wooden button size 8

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 10:32

only on an outwardbound course thingy near the coast - not to Mauritius or somewhere!

Some people on my other thread think I am being totally unreasonable for moaning....

Guadalupe · 07/09/2008 10:38

I love Myriad, FMV, we have quite a few things from there.

All my family have come down with d and v in the night. We didn't have the same thing for dinner. Most odd. I have my florence cap on.

Croissants for breakfast. I feel fine.

DH wants a boat. I don't, well, not with very little ones anyone.

Have a good holiday, OB. I like grey.

filthymindedvixen · 07/09/2008 10:39

ugh, you poor thing Guad!
Tempting fate here but my lot seem pretty immune to D&V bugs...we just get horrible coughs and colds.

Boco · 07/09/2008 10:41

Hello Lully, how are you feeling?

Oh no Guad, sorry to hear about the d & V, what a nightmare, you sound very laid back about it, hope you don't get it.

Lullabyloo · 07/09/2008 10:44

Hello Guad
ughh to bugs,dh had it last week but luckily neither ds or I caught it.

Fmv...I think that's an awful lot of money to find straight after Christmas.January seems an odd time to take them away on that sort of trip anyway

I like grey too
I'm not awfully good with colour tho

Lullabyloo · 07/09/2008 10:46

Hello Boco

lets just say Ughhhhh
Ughhhhh to everything at the moment

I want to squirrel away into hibernation

Guadalupe · 07/09/2008 10:51

I am resigned. Dh got it first that's why it's unusual, normally the kids bring it home from school but they all followed within an hour. He's supposed to be flying to luxemburg (sp?) tonight for work.

Thank god we didn't go camping.

Boco - when is your birthday?

Boco · 07/09/2008 11:11

Yes, d&v camping would be a total nightmare wouldn't it. So will dh stay at home now?

Bday is on Friday. The cinema is coming to The Village hall, so thought it would be good to go and get a baby sitter. Dp pointed out that it's about two old men dying of terminal diseases so not sure it's really what i'm after.

Have a lovely bday Idris!

berolina · 07/09/2008 11:19

Happy birthday Idris and Boco in advance. Just had a mini meltdown feeling overwhelmed about how much I have on my plate atm and decided one logical answer would be a break from MN. So am off now before resolve wavers.
