For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

STILL NO FRUIT

FrannyandZooey · 29/08/2008 18:50

have to wear boring shoes as toenails in grim state

am relying on dinner party food for vegetable consumption

oh how to eat 5 portions of fruit before 9 am?
you have to have a really big bowl, and be hungry
and greedy
just chop em up with some oats, milk and seeds and eat em

Mine are too, Franny. I should sort that out tonight. Have fun at your dinner party. I miss doing things like that.

Can anyone reassure me re DS's bedwetting? Should I worry?

SuperBunny · 29/08/2008 19:13

Beans and lentils and juice

it closed last week and i got my application in

i had decided that i was gpoing to hear and then they have put it back on the website today

FrayedKnot · 29/08/2008 19:40

UR DS wet the bed recently and I have no idea why - it was only once, but he so rarely does it (think maybe twice since out of nappies at night), he hadn;t had much to drink before bed, etc, that I was a bit concerned.

In fact, I think maybe it was illness because he was very itchy those two nights (this was about a week ago), and now he has a rash on his face, and nursery are muttering "Slapped Cheek".

I have no idea what Slapped Cheek is really, but he isn;t poorly, just rather blotchy.

I suppose you should check with Dr though, if it happens again, incase he has a UTI?

Have good fun camping and dinner partying all you lot...

We have a very dull weekend planned - catching up on chores mostly [grumpy]

I am suspicious about the weather FC for tomorrow - they haven;t got it right yet this week.

SuperBunny · 29/08/2008 20:29

Thanks, FK. I was wondering if it was stress of something. He doesn't seem unwell but it is out of character. Will see what happens next week. I don't want to have to put him back in nappies at night but if it's going to happen regularly, I can't be changing our bed every night, especially since we don't have a washing machine. Maybe I'll try waking him up at about 10 each night so he can do a wee then.

berolina · 29/08/2008 22:39

Sorry you're feeling down and generally envious, zippi. Here's me moaning about being back at work sorry.

FK, slapped cheek is generally a mild thing IIRC but keep him away from pg people just in case.

Hope you got your fruit, Toot I know you've gone but will wish you a lovely time anyway.

UR, I have no advice (ds1 still in nappies) but it might just be one of those things that crops up every now and again. Sympathy for no washing machine! Can you dry outside, at least?

Beans on toast.

We certainly did

I am so glad we've had a van this summer. It's much easier to go places when you only need some food and clothes. Camping is a drag when you have to pack all the stuff. We are off again in the morning and will probably go a few more weekends before it gets cold.

I still don't particularly like it aesthetically but it's so useful I have coome to like it more. Anyway, we can't afford or even all fit in a nice old splitscreen so we will stick with this old dinosaur for now.

Everthing. That's the problem. You need it all even for one night so it doens't feel worth going for a short time. We used to camp for weeks at a time.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2008 23:34

Night, Avi.

pinkspottywellies · 29/08/2008 23:50

Hey! We got a thread about our thread

SuperBunny · 29/08/2008 23:54

Ooo, a thread about our thread. I could have started that one but I wanted for PSW to be the first to admit to not getting it

Might be going on a short road trip tomorrow. Not sure why I agreed to it and might not even happen. Should go and finish painting my toenails I suppose. DS nagged me about his so I did his little toe silver. I suspect boys with silver toe nails is not really the done thing, is it?
