For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

No no Idris it's not a requirement, although some would prefer it

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2008 22:01

awww avi lovely
he should have a chat with ds1 who of course wants to rape the oceans on a regular basis as he is not allowed to
poor deprived child

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2008 22:01

ds2 still isn't asleep
been fairly happy though
I think he is overwhelmed with joy at having me and dp both in the same place and not being in the hospital with people sticking things in him

this is your first night home isn't it, it must feel lovely.

berolina · 27/07/2008 22:07

ahhhh avi, how lovely of ds . I have had ds1 cutenesses tonight but not fish-related so will refrain now.

Am slightly, but only slightly, alarmed at poo talk. (I am clearly getting used to it here ).

Good luck Slur! You are a braver woman than I. When I am a doula I think I am going to have to learn to drive, though, or at least cycle in a frenetic fashion. (And I think I am actually going to have to learn to cycle. I don't think I've ridden a bike properly since I was about 9 ).

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2008 22:07

oh sorry
I just like it
I am not thinking it is funny that you said it, I just like its comedy potential

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:08

my children are all shouting in the garden. I think I ought to being them in really but I have been sucked into the MIL milk thread.

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2008 22:09

it is Guad
it feels very calm and pleasant but I am feeling a bit that I have mostly MNed
so easy when you are tired and a bit emotionally bleary though

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 22:09

I have been looking at the MIL milk thread.

UnderRated · 27/07/2008 22:09

Welcome home franny

BF turned up yesterday with a rose. I accidentally did sulking which has morphed into me having a bit of a rough patch about life in general. Will have to call him and explain a bit. I drank beer, only 1 but have been teetoal for 5 months so was odd. And it made me want more but I don't think it is good for me. Can't decide if this is me being premestrual or something else. Think it probably scuppers my plans to come off my ADs too. Not that I take them properly anyway. Which may well be part of the problem And I am a week late.

Sorry for rant. And for all late night woes last night. Life is hard

I think I am further from the sea than any of you. It's about 1000 miles to the Atlantic which is closest. But 1 mile from the lake so will take DS to the beach tomorrow.

I have lots of tomatoes, slur but different climate so probably can't compare. My sister is very proud of the 2 tomatoes she has managed to grow.

I like the fishing story.

Anyway, redcurrants, peach, um spinach, grapefruit juice, grapefruit cake, grapes,

Off to read the poo crumb thread...

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:10

yes, I know the feeling. I keep pouring wine and refreshing and thinking they must go to bed soon. They all slept on the way home from the beach so are still sparky.

UnderRated · 27/07/2008 22:10

Rice cake with peanut butter and chocolate chips.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 22:11

Spinach
Cucumber
Tomatoes
Apple juice
Raisins
Watercress

Not actually that bad

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:12

trout with gherkin, sunblush tomato, lemon and herb dressing and salad. This was to counter me eating nearly a whole boursin to myself on the beach.

FrannyandZooey · 27/07/2008 22:13

MIL milk thread is a shocker
dp is lying with ds on his tummy
they do look cute

berolina · 27/07/2008 22:13

Rant away, UR. 'Tis sometimes necessary.
A week late? Do you think something is afoot?

berolina · 27/07/2008 22:13

I have definitely had my 10 today.

UnderRated · 27/07/2008 22:19

I love boursin

Not sure if it is just me being irregular, stress or something else. No idea. Have to go back to dr in 3 weeks to get checked again. Oh joy...

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:23

I love boursin too much

UnderRated · 27/07/2008 22:24

That's the reason I won't buy it, guad. It's a bit dangerous.

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:26

yes, I must stop. I find myself absent mindedly picking at it long after I've eaten my crackers or whatever. The it hardly seems worth putting a piddly bit away.

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:26

We are all eating cornettos now. It has gone to pot. I don't know what has gone to pot but you know what I mean.

Boco · 27/07/2008 22:28

franny good to see you back!

God I did a really bad thing and broke the children. Am a BAD parent, careless, wasn't concentrating, lazy. I let them watch TV while I cleared up and then generally enjoyed them being silent in the other room - when I went in it was that little girls Dakota Fanning and Tom Cruise and I vaguely knew that aliens would land at some point, but they love scary things and were cuddled up together loving it - but then later I came in and it was really quite scary so said that's enough up to bed, but they both howled that then they wouldn't know what happens to the little girl, so I watched the end with them, put them to bed, and now dd2 is totally freaked out - crying under the covers saying that aliens are coming. God, why did I do that. with myself. Have calmed her down and tried to explain CGI and special effects and the absence of alien life forms - she's in my bed.

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 22:31

ds1 did that after Signs, he has always liked alien films but that was quite sinister and atmosperic. He was scared for ages. I felt bad.

DD has only just recovered from Black Beauty which she watched 18 months ago. She cried for nights.
