For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

TooTicky · 27/07/2008 20:55

I saw the poo thread earlier Franny, it is quite bizarere. I can't imagine a medical condition producing crumbs. Sounds like poor hygiene to me. I would expect involuntary movements to be more, well, moist.
Disclaimer: I could have been much more graphic but wasn't. So there. And Franny mentioned it first.

Pasta sauce containing tomato, onion, garlic, green pepper and courgette. Probably lost points by whizzing it.

Fmv, you hold the cat down and I'll stand by with the water pistol. She'll miaow under pressure.

Evening

I have been eating mainly tomatoes whilst casting meaningful looks at my plants. We did plant them out quite late, they were in from seed earlier erm, gah can't remember when. Oh well, I like your theory I'm going with that.

I have a driving lesson tomorrow. it will be fine. Yes it will [determined] and then we're off to Wales til end of week - just in time for rain.

TooTicky · 27/07/2008 21:09

We are off to west Somerset coast on Tuesday. We will wave across the sea to you Slur

FIrst proper lesson tomorrow morning before we leave.

Dp sort of taught me a bit before ds was born but that was nearly two years ago. We went out together a few times in last few days just to remind myself. It feels okay actually, (only accidentally closed my eyes once and that was the first time a car came hurtling towards me. oops) but I think I'm not awful, however still waiting for instructor to let me know that in fact I am terrible

filthymindedvixen · 27/07/2008 21:18

oh somerset, how lovely!

There is very big noisy party going on down the road. it is too hot not to have the windows open. If it goes on late I'm going to go down and demand drinks. And if they say owt I will snarl ''You are sharing your fecking vile music, you are sharing the sound of your guests braying and shrieking and the vile smell of your turd burgers. You might at least share your alcohol.''
wankers.

I passed my test just over 2 years ago. It does help being older (am obviously making assumptions here! But you're not 18, no?) I first had lessons at 18 then ran out of money.
Can you practise between lessons? That makes a big difference.

Some people behind us have taken to having noisy gatherings all weekend recently. They normally shut up by about 11 but last night they were singing bloody Tom Jones crap hits until about 2.30am I've been having some really wierd dreams since I've been pg so I actually woke up wondering if it had been real!!

We had a splendid day at the beach and then dh snapped the key off in the petrol station on the way home tryiing to fill up. I suggested we ask for help but he insisted we would make it home. Of course we fucking didn't. Slowed to a halt four miles outside the city just as some idiots were pointing at our van as people seem to think it looks funny or something.

I had suggested to dh that the engine was sounding a little different and as it was backfiring for the first time ever, we ought to stop at the next garage for some pliars and a bit of diesel. Oh, no, since when was I a mechanic, of course we would make it home. Darling, you seem to be losing power, oh no, he says, I'm just not going down a gear to save diesel.

Anyway, by the time we get a taxi home and he cycles back with the spare keys and a can and does what he needs to, I have fed the children tuna and beans and cooked and eaten trout. His trout is sitting on a plate with a bowl to keep it warm. The bowl wouldn't fit over the whole fish so it had a very pleasing severed look to the head and tail. DH looked a bit alarmed.

Very nice to see you back, Franny.

pinkspottywellies · 27/07/2008 21:40

AAAaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww. Bless him Avi! I think it'a a very 10/10 story. You have a budding vegetarian there!

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 21:41

oh, sorry, Avi, I leapt in on your story.

pinkspottywellies · 27/07/2008 21:42

LOL at severed trout! Could be taken as threatening Guad!

Guadalupe · 27/07/2008 21:42

yes, well, it was the same theme as Avi's, kind of

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 21:45

Are we meant to be vegetarian? I think I have rather failed on that point.
