For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

[drunken bad cat]

So she should be coming home today? What a nightmare Poor everyone.

Morning all,

Fab title fruity ones.

Guad, did you have fun at the fairyland thing? One of my friends went to it yesterday too, am going to a bbq at hers later so will ask her. Quite fancy it next year myself.

DC's with PIL, for few hours to let us get on with decorating DD's new bedrom, so better get to work!

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 12:20

I think we are also as far from the sea as it is possible to be

Boco · 27/07/2008 12:24

Somebody lock the door and make Fabio tell us who she is / was!

I want to go to the beach too. Is hot.

I like pizza express banoffee pie, but then I also dream about butterscotch angel delight and probably shouldn't be here at all.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 12:30

I'm not sure if I've ever had PE banoffee pie, but I should think I would love it, if it is outrageously sweet.

You could tell us, no one else on the whole of Mumsnet ever reads this thread

Boco · 27/07/2008 12:37

It's true, they're afraid of vegetables out there, it's very safe in here - who are you firrrging cat?

I think there should be a website where you put in a place and it tells you how far from the sea you are.

pinkspottywellies · 27/07/2008 12:44

No Idris honestly I love sweet more than anything (don't tell dh) and even I don't like PE Banoffee

Bacon avocado and tomato sandwich. I was so hungry but too tired to eat it. Seemed very difficult! Bit better now but need more food.

Hope Franny gets home for good today.

Boco · 27/07/2008 12:45

Heard from her early this morning and she was about to leave the hospital.

pinkspottywellies · 27/07/2008 12:46

We live about an hour away from the sea but it's not very nice and it's awful roads to get there I lived in Cornwall until I was 13 within spitting distance of several beaches. I miss it on days like this.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 12:46

Cucumber
Raspberries

Boco · 27/07/2008 12:46

Congratulations btw Pink, just read through old thread and saw your news. Of course it was a huge surprise

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 12:46

I think I could still beat you on the sweet tooth PSW

IdrisTheDragon · 27/07/2008 12:47

Lunch is happening. Then we will go out. DH and his brother have gone to Silverstone to watch cars. We may go to a farm.

pinkspottywellies · 27/07/2008 12:53

Thanks Boco. I am never name changing again if something's secret. I'm rubbish at it!!

Boco · 27/07/2008 12:55

I missed that bit - what did you change to?
I worked it out by all the 'i have a secret and I'm not telling' stuff.

BBBee · 27/07/2008 13:01

i win on the sweet tooth thing as i have eaten a whole tin of condensed milk to myself - see if you can top that - come on - down in one down in one!

BBBee · 27/07/2008 13:02

(actually this kind of stuff is the reason we need franny around...)

Hello

B*gger it's hot.

Have been to park with DS and wre flopped about and then to gym....where it was nice and cool

DS went to bed at 8.45 last night and we really thought we might get a nice lie in this morning

Even I couldn;t eat golden syrup in this heat

One of my lovely friends from work is hopefully bringing us back a crate of pakistani mangoes from one of the London markets (apparently near where his parents live in London they sell piles of them in season) - they are those intensely sweet yellow ones you can;t buy in the shops

This afternoon I have to do shopping and ironing for holiday [harumph]

BBBee · 27/07/2008 13:39

oh FK we used to get those from brick lane on a sunday - we would eat just that all day.

a friend of mine from saudi arabia makes mango smoothies using tinned mango puree - not as good as fresh but could not bear to waste a fresh mango in a smoothy.

oh lucky you fk.
