For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

enough towels I see

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 15:49

Thanks Bero - I'm trying to get down with the kidz in tine for Uni in 32 working days!

TigerFeet · 16/07/2008 15:50

It's a date OB

I knitted my brother a really long stripy scarf for Christmas one year. I thought that as an archaeologist he was much in need of a very long stripy scarf. He washed it and now has a very short stripy scarf

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 15:50

actually, that's the extent of my knitting skills too. I have ''stress'' scarves which I start to keep my hands busy when I am in danger of smoking too much
Could I come and drink and discuss QI and Bill Bailey and Jo Brand and knit scarves too?

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 15:50

'time' obviously. At least my spelling is bad enough to hang out with youngsters.

TigerFeet · 16/07/2008 15:51

lol at getting down with the kidz

I am learning text speak from my sister who thinks it's hilarious that I don't have a clue.

wuu2?

lionheart · 16/07/2008 15:51

Ooooh-ahh.

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 15:53

Of course fmv.

You have to pretend to be enthusiastic about it though. A little delay in jumping up and saying 'woo' is acceptable though.

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 15:56

Hmmm. I could get enthusiastic about those nice teas though.

TigerFeet · 16/07/2008 15:57

And you can see Kevin Pietersen's back muscles through his shirt.

berolina · 16/07/2008 15:59

oooh uni OB? going or teaching/working at? (sorry if you've said and I am useless as always).

yes TigerFeet! Doing doula course next year and then hopefully specialising in looking after women with no or little German in the 'system'. Then also hopefully doing language work around pregnancy, birth, bf... (translations/corrections for birthing centres, bf support groups, shops, that sort of thing). And publishing my Related Academic Book.

berolina · 16/07/2008 16:00

(Sorry TigerFeet, your question was a way down, this morning)

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:00

What's really tragic is that I still think I AM one of the kidz. Sigh.

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 16:00

What do you think Franny is up to? Sleeping? Giving birth rapidly? We do need a webcam.

OP posts:
TooTicky · 16/07/2008 16:01

OB, you are one of the kidz. You're not 30 yet, are you?

Studying Bero. BSc in Nutrition. I get a white coat and everything

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:03

Soon TooT. Soon.

Plus DH reckons that as he is 37 we average out our ages to be more accurate and thus we are both 33 and a bit.

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:04

In fact, he is 38 next month so I'm nearly 34.

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 16:05

indeed

TigerFeet · 16/07/2008 16:12

Taking an average of dh's age and mine we are 37

I forget how old I am sometimes. Then I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Am tired of face and grey of hair but still gorgeous obviously

Bero I am going to tell my Mum what you are doing - I am a forces brat and was born in Germany as was one of my brothers. We were born in a British Military Hospital so not too much problem but she also had a miscarriage and was in a German hospital with no translation. It was all 30+ years ago but I'm sure she'd love to hear that there are people who are putting this sort of thing right

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:15

I feel restless. Shall I leave work early? With the NHS collapse without me? I rather think not.

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:19

Salmon Teriyake for tea. With mangetout n peppers n courgettes n stuff.

I don't really like salmon but got it out the freezer yesterday morning for SD and then her evil mother came and took her away to have dinner elsewhere. Thanks for the warning. Now I have to eat salmon. Stomps foot and whinges in a Monica from Friends stylee.

zippitippitoes · 16/07/2008 16:22

OsmosisBanana · 16/07/2008 16:36

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 16:37
