For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh lorks. I was just looking at your nekkid pics again FMV (what is wrong with me???) and it suddenly reminded me of a nekkid escapade of my own

We went to Croatia for a holiday and talked ourselves into going on one of the nuddie beaches.

Bizarre. Bizarre. Bizarre.

Mainly painful though as it was a cliff face, not really a beach and was incredibly hot.

There were men snorkelling off shore a bit, which I was intrigued by being a keen scuba diver so I went and had a look.

Not a fish in sight......

There was also a woman there lying there as you would if you were being smear tested. With those weird reflector things that Americans use to brown under their chins.

Fucking odd.

oh dear TF As a veteran of 5 pgs in Germany (2 hospital births, 3 mcs incl 2 D+Cs, 2 stays on neonatal units) I can only imagine how much it would have bewildered me if I hadn't had the language. It's bad enough with - IME in German hospitals you are breezed in on and fiddled around with without a word of explanation and expected to put up. I had ds2 in a big teaching hospital an was under them for most of the pg too due to temporarily alarming placenta situation. The gyns/obses, one in particular, were almost all brilliant - competent and respectful. It transpired that half of them had spent time in the UK working in the NHS . My brilliant obstetrician said she'd pick the NHS over Germany any day. One of the 2 or 3 MWs at the birth was dud, but it didn't matter as that obs was there. I'll never forget her calling out, in English, 'Oh, he's perfect' as he came out.

Go Franny!

Oh, banana, tomato, cucumber, crap!

IdrisTheDragon · 16/07/2008 17:04

DH and I are boringly close to each other in age so taking an average doesn't do a lot to either of us. I am almost 33. And he is just 33.

filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 17:07

beany salad, cherries.

Have to concoct something palatable for dh for dinner involving 3 frankfurters, lentils, and a tin of tomatoes

anyone got any thoughts on this?

Ha ha....(I did 35)

I shall def have to investigate younger men in my latter years maybe there will be more of a draw then?

LullyOfShallot · 16/07/2008 17:47

I am being a bad mother
Having been away, the house is a wreck & I have been clearing out stuff from the bedroom as we are having the bay window replaced tomorrow & I have horrid doubling up period pains...so ds is having soup & sandwiches & watching the Phoenix & The Carpet.

UnderRated · 16/07/2008 17:50

What's going on Franny? I was 2cm dilated at 35 weeks and didn't deliver for another two. Feels odd walking around knowing your cervix is open with a baby lurking in there.

TF, hope you feel better soon. Refined sugar seems to make me feel crap.

Interesting that many of you seem to be homeopathy sceptics. I'm not sure what I think about it.

My friend had accupuncture and it didn't work. She's gone in to be induced today but she might have her baby by now.

If I can use BF's age, our average age is 36.5 I will stick to my real age, I think.

UnderRated · 16/07/2008 17:52

Lully, that isn't being a Bad Mother, that is just trying to make it through a tough day.

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 18:16

Avi, no, no parcel yet
Wasn't sure if the first part of the journey was by fishing boat or seagull or something...

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 18:17

Franny, if that makes you a bad mother then I am beyond redemption most days!

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 16/07/2008 18:19

Lully that sounds a like a lovely day for ds actually

TooTicky · 16/07/2008 18:22

I meant to say LULLY of course, not Franny [tired]

I have a question. Don't really want to start a thread because I didn't react the way I think I should have but what is the best way to handle this?

DS & I went to music class yesterday. We were the first there so sat in the play area and waited. Friend (well, acquaintence) comes in, wearing lovely pale pink shorts. She sits on the floor in front of me, cross legged and it is apparent that she has her period but perhaps hasn't realised. Before I could think of what to do, other families walked in, class started and I didn't say anything

I can't decide if it were me, if I'd prefer someone to pretend they hadn't seen or if I'd want them to tell me. WWYD?
