For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 09:46

have fun TooT I do love a nice boot sale
get some bargains for me

Tatties · 13/07/2008 10:33

Morning

TooT I like hairstyle 1 best.

I think dp and ds are going out in a bit so I am going to try to regain serenity by tidying the house. And the sun is out so I might do a bit of weeding

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 10:35

what can I do? I know I am being utterly wet, but really, honestly, what can i do today?

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 10:35

nectarine, raisins, bluebers, strawbers, melon

Tatties · 13/07/2008 10:41

Have you got any ingredients in for baking?

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2008 10:42

TooT I prefer the first do for you. Although I think they're probably similar cuts just styled differently. I did that for years - went to the hairdresser thinking I'd have something really different and came out with the same look when I just dried it myself!

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 10:43

standing up hurts
actually everything hurts so is that relevant? probably not
I think standing up hurts WORSE

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2008 10:49

Could you reach to paint your toe nails or shave your legs Fran? Or you could just wallow in the bath. Sorry if wallow sounds reminicsent of hippo behaviour, I just mean to relax and lounge about.

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2008 10:51

My god my laptop's slow this morning. I keep having to refresh to get it to post

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 10:53

heh @ hippo
yes am just going to have a bath
can't reach anything I'm afraid - had toes done about a month ago thinking they would still be nice when baby arrived - mistake
wonder if dp would do them?

boys are doing gardening and going swimming

Tatties · 13/07/2008 10:53

Oh dear Franny. Does a bath ease the aches?

Tatties · 13/07/2008 10:55

Would ds give you a foot rub? Children are good at that sort of thing

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 10:57

yes bath very good
will move in to bath I think
only problem is MNing from bath slightly risky

ds is not exactly helpful and pleasant child almost all the time dp is here tbh
if I want any decent behaviour I have to take over

pequod · 13/07/2008 11:24

sorry to butt in - have always been a lurker - but i just came across these brilliant pajamas and thought of your threads:

www.newjammies.com/

Boco · 13/07/2008 11:26

I went to next doors party last night, despite it being scary - because it was right outside and very loud, so I thought I could sit in tutting about the noise or go and join in - as she did invite us. I met a man who could gurn - he could foold his bottom lip right over his nose. Is a marvelous place this village. I feel very delicate this morning. Not because of the gurning, more the alcohol.

Boco · 13/07/2008 11:28

pequod, franny said there were lurkers, but I never believed it - have you never been tempted to start listing your f&v intake? How could you resist?

Lovely pyjamas

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2008 11:34

Can't see the pjs

I lurked on MN for ages but never in a quiche, just the more general advicey threads.

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 11:38

Excellent pyjamas!

Boco, you are a fool very brave. It sounded frightful. Literally.

Hope Franny is soaking happily.

that was my first post, actually - mostly i lurk in the nannying bit because that's what i do, but your titles always make me laugh. I wonder why you can't see them, pinkspottywellies?

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 11:50

Dd1 bought a computer at the boot sale for £10. Includes printer, scanner, webcam and all sorts.
Ds1 bought a Slazenger tennis tacquet with balls, a microscope and a complicated |Bart Simpson jigsaw. He is cross wioth everythiung and everybody because he didn't get the computer.
Ds2 has a screeching monkey that you can fire into the air by pulling his stretchy arms and dd2 has a small, pink-headed sheep with handles.

pequod, what have you eaten today? We won't let you out until you tell us.
You could stay and change your name to peapod.
