For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Really? I'd have thought beaches were pretty okay.

Hang on, aren't you fairly in the middle of a large country and not near the sea?

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:27

Hello

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:28

Is UR near a large lake?

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:31

Right, it's time for TooT's annual hair crisis. My ponytail is too heavy, and anyway I'm fed up with ponytails. And there might be more hot weather this summer. Maybe.
So, please vote if you would.....
Sort of more like this or sort of more like that but without the silly pouty expression.
I do hate hairstyle photos. Most of them are just so utterly stupid.

I'm off to bed now. Will await and abide by the collective decision [fear]

My family have been here (mum and dad are down from the North although are staying with sister and her DH who live about 15 min away).

I am winding down pre-bed

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:32

Oh hello Idris, shouldn't you be in bed? I know I should.

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:33

I think the second one

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:34

I should be in bed but the rest of my family only went about 20 min ago and so I need to have a little time on my own before going to bed.

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:34

How odd. You answered my question before I asked it

OP posts:
berolina · 13/07/2008 00:35

My recommendation is the second one, TooT

hello Idris

I definitely need to be in bed. but ds2 has woken up and getting him and myself into bed without him waking fully and screaming will be tricky.

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:36

Hello bero

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:37

Winding down time is invaluable sanity-wise, isn't it?

Number two? Okay. Thanks

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:38

But without the pout, obviously.

TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:39

And another vote for number 2. Is this where I perversely start preferring number 1?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 13/07/2008 00:41

S'okay, I never pout.
Right, I really am off to bed now.

Good night xx

Yes, I am in the middle of a large landmass, 1000 miles to the nearest ocean but I live about a mile from one of the largest lakes on the planet and we have beaches. They're not white sand with palm tree type beaches but pretty good for an inner city, I think. I just picture on profile - the building on the left in the distance is the Hancock Tower - the 3rd tallest building in the US iirc. About to be overtaken by the new Trump Tower. Because what the world needs is yet another tall phallic building owned by Donald Trump.

Did you have a good time, Idris?

I think the first one, Toot. Looks more grown up. But I sort of like the second one becaues it looks a bit longer but the pouty face is a bit overwhelming.

What does one do with sour redcurrants?

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 00:42

I think I will head bedwards as well.

Night all

Morning

Went to bed at 12.30 post dinner with vodka. DS woke us up at 5.45.

Luckily DH took pity but I still feel more like a chewed up piece of string than normal.

My Mum is coming sometime imminently

No f&v

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 09:16

I like no 1
