For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Balls. You are way too sensible for 28. Or am I just way too shit for 29?? Prob the latter.

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 22:11

Toot, did you decide about the Ladyboys?

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:11

I am REALLY looking forward to my first birthday at uni, when eeryone is celebrating their 19th's and I'll be hiding my 30th (and hangover gale force 10) under a bushel.

Guadalupe · 12/07/2008 22:12

I nearly didn't go, dh and I were arguing earlier and I thought stuff making smalltalk with your colleagues but then I calmed down and went anyway and it was fun. We didn't really talk to anyone else much, we had a nice time on our own. I suppose it wasn't very 10/10 either what with all the popcorn and candy floss and whirring and loud music but then I quite like that sometimes.

Guadalupe · 12/07/2008 22:13

I forget some of you are in your twenties. I am 30 now. Sigh.

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 22:13

MrsC, I think it is nice to do things like that every now and then. Not very 10/10 at all, but lots of fun.

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:14

Meant to say, Ladyboys were in Bristol a few wks ago, I had tickets to go (freebies) but ended up not using them as had no babysitter. Good girly night out I reckon.. If v drunk.

Looks totally harmless.

I have seen the real article at work in Bangkok and even then, not scary.

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:16

You also Mrs C... Another old head. I'm a very nearly 30 and don't consider myself in my 20's. I'm distancing myself from my 20's. They were messy and stressful.

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:17

On young shoulders i MEANT.

Guadalupe · 12/07/2008 22:22

hmm, speaking of young, someone has just put a photo of me on facebook from a night out clubbing when I was 19. I'm not entirely please about it. I look completely off my head. Ds1 just looked at it and said who's that? I said me and he said wow you look tiny. Hmm.

berolina · 12/07/2008 22:22

My 20s were often messy and stressful too, at least the first half of them.

My redcurrants have gone bad am having nectarine and plums instead.

No, am not brave enough yet. You'll say 'you won't be any good at that'

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 22:29

Bero, whatever it is, I am sure you will be good at it. Is this a work related thing? Or food?

I'd not be pleased if pics of me appeared on FB. I am sure I was tiny when I was 19 too.

berolina · 12/07/2008 22:32

Work. Hopefully my escape route from my paying-the-bills job that I have to and don't waaaaant to go back to in 6 weeks or so (saving graces are a) it's only 2.5 days b) I think I have the best boss and some of the best colleagues in the whole of Germany). - I'm sorry UR for moaning about my job when you would like to work

I am having a glass of wine. Might spill afterwards. Dutch courage

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:39

oH bERO YOU ARE SILLY. oops. In my mind you are capability personified. I don't imagine there is anything you can't turn your hand to. [big up emoticon]

Anyway, take inspiration from the zipper. Get up, dust down, start again.

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 22:39

NO, I want money. I don't think I want to work

There is nothing worse than doing a job you don't like, Bero. So, if you have an alternative, then maybe you should go for it

I have just been looking at some new baby photos

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:52

COOL! Thanks Av.

I saw a Eurofighter / Typhoon thingy do a display over the surf festival (slightly incongrous n'est pas?) and it was AWESOME. The noise. My god.

I used to want a jump jet so I could turn up at raves with sound system on board and the police wouldn't be able to impond it.

Ah. Such dreams I had... and now...

berolina · 12/07/2008 22:53

OB

OK then.

Iamgoingtotrainasadoula. Course is next year. When I've finished the plan is to specialise in working with and advocacy for women who have no German, in the hospital system but also with gyns and MWs - also for women post-birth, whose babies are in neonatal wards. I will also do language work (copy, translations) in fields related to pregnancy, birth and early childhood.

I've never felt I'm the doula type somehow. But I really want to do this. I loved writing my course application and was all precious about handing it in myself. The place where the course is is really near to us.

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:53

Impond?! Now that would be funny. I mean impound.

Bero that sounds fantastic [awe]

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 22:57

FUCKING GOOD FOR YOU BERO!!! Why so shy?? Surely this would be the place for whooping and cheering?

My best friends mother is a doula. She is about eleventy one, catholic, hippy, ex traveller (was at battle of the bean field) mother of 8 and has just trained as a doula. I thought B4 they were a bit la-la (working in a midwifery hospital and all) but she changed my mind. She is a special lady. As I am sure you are and will be to others.

Tatties · 12/07/2008 22:58

You know avi, with me, I think it is more a yearning to have my time over again with ds, but do everything right this time
