For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

he is probably doing it to try to make the other parts of his life seem more pleasant ie being the slave of a 3 foot dictator, and having to service a grumpy hippo every night

of corse our relationship is cerebral and when we arent exchanging general knowledge we are engaging in outdoor pursuits

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 19:52

Are things ok though zippi?

zippitippitoes · 12/07/2008 20:02

yes except for my potential shocking debt scenario

i am lucky exh is pretty immune to financial pressure

niot that im proud of the fact he is my benefactor

im not sure what would happen if he knew about bf i hope he wouldnt call in his money

pinkspottywellies · 12/07/2008 20:11

I quite liked finding nemo, Franny. I didn't switch it off anyway!

I was going to watch that channel 5 freebirthing programme tonight but I just thought I might watch Atonement instead. Votes please veggers.

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 20:11

Oh yes, that could be messy, zip.

My ex has just filed in court to not have to pay me anything - he's only paid one month and what he was ordered to pay only just covers rent, no bills or food or anything. His argument is that I have borrowed $$$$$s from my family . The fact that I am living overseas, where I am not allowed to earn money and am feeding, clothing and entertaining DS because of him seems to have passed him by.

I am also not proud that I am totally dependent on others financially. But I have no choice. We do what we have to do, don't we?

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 20:12

Haven't seen either, Pink, sorry

LullyOfShallot · 12/07/2008 20:14

but yoiur edxh should be paying

pinkspottywellies · 12/07/2008 20:19

UR and indeed [furious]

Are you getting any further with the situation or are you just waiting?

zippitippitoes · 12/07/2008 20:19

but actually my exh is very wealthy and he had every chance to have me ..he wouldnt have what he has if he hadnt been with me for years..so tuf really

UnderRated · 12/07/2008 20:32

Zippi, it sounds as though you deserve every penny

My situation is still much the same. Waiting. I do have a visa application underway which will... put me back on ex's visa. Which is exactly what I should have been on in the firts place, had he decided to exclude me and try to ship me off home without my DS. Grrr. If it comes through, it'll give me a few more months but I still won't be able to work. If it is not approved, I'll have to leave. Within 48 hrs. So am hoping it'll all be ok.

Off for a run now.

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 20:35

ATONEMENT!!!!! DEF!!!!!! Love that film. I am obsessed with war. Well... some wars. Not recent ones. Mainly WW1 WW2 and anything to do with Chairman Mao.

pinkspottywellies · 12/07/2008 20:40

I really struggle with war stuff. I tried to watch Saving Private Ryan with DH and he turned it off after 5 mins (despite my protestations that I wanted to watch it) because I couldn't stop crying I had tears pouring down my face even when I'd stopped that awful heaving gulping thing!

It's just so real and so sad that so many young men died. I did however try to convince DH to watch Atonement on the basis that it was a war film and he was having none of it.

Actually I've decided I can't cope with such high emotion tonight. I'll watch it another time. Sorry OB!

Bbbee · 12/07/2008 20:41

pink - have you read atonement yet? if not i would wait and watch film after - but might be weird like that.

zippitippitoes · 12/07/2008 20:43

one of my most sad films is a town like alice

i cry

i like saving private ryan

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 20:46

I had to stop reading Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and now it sits accusingly on the bookshelf saying "you were too crap to read me"

dp made me stop actually for same reasons as you Pink but I was so relieved he did

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 20:47

Have a small prob.

Went to festival with some friends. They are my special project. They are very shouty at children and each other and have many other probs but are lots of fun and I like em a lot and we have fun together. I ralise how much of an arsehole that makes me sound, but she has become much less aggro since we became friends etc etc. Believe it or not!!!!!!!!

Anyway, in the run up we paid for the crates of beers etc, all the diesel, various other odds n sods just for ease of packing etc etc on the understanding they would settle up after payday one wk later and would make a small chipping in for fuel as were taing both cars to accomodate them and she packed everything and the kitchen sink x2.

Have now managed to get hold of friend on phone and said, we are skinted, just paid the builders every bean we have can we sort out the cash? (1 month on). She says, no probs, I owe you a tenner for the waterproof you bought DS.

I know all I need to do is remind her of what she actually owes but feel slightly chagrined that she thinks the coat was £10 when it was £20 not to mention the rest!!!

Yeah yeah, I should be in the AIBU thread. Just wanted to vent.

However, feel a little glow at managing to slip the word chagrined into a sentence even if I did spell it wrong. Probably.
