For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I told my friend when I was pg that I had to get up in the night for the toilet (once). She was - she was having to get up about 5 times for the loo, with spd and 5 stairs up to it!!

TooTicky · 12/07/2008 09:58

Sorry, not being unsympathetic or owt

Right, okay, if you were suddenly summoned to go to some dull but essential function, what would your first reaction be? "Oh no, I would much rather......"
And that is what you should do.

Right, quick, make a decision or you'll have to come swimming with us. Okay?

Our bathroom is down 13 stairs and at the other end of thehouse.

Oh God the weeing how could I forget?
So infuriating.
(I also woke myself snoring once) horrors

Toot she is delightful
She is quite extraordinary.
Lots of my old school friends I have long since lost contact with still visit her & with their children now
Monday afternoon ds & I are meeting her in London & he is impossibly excited. She sent him a card this morning with a list of suggestions as to what we could get up to & some balancing butterflies...he has the same incredible bond with her that I have always had.

Did I say that we all clubbed together & bought a laptop for her birthday?
I now get lots of lovely emails

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 10:16

I wake myself snoring constantly
I looked it up and it is hormonal
how can SNORING be hormonal

I am going to wash my hair then we're going out for lunch

TooTicky · 12/07/2008 10:17

Oh, I want to meet her

OP posts:
LullyOfShallot · 12/07/2008 10:23

Shall I share her about then?
She could be the collective 10/10 grandmother

Franny...you simply cannot have the baby on Monday
Toot...do you have a mobile? I may have to give you my no. in case there is news & I miss it.

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 10:24

rummage on Monday Lully
hopefully baby on Tuesday

LullyOfShallot · 12/07/2008 10:27

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

How do you manage to wash your hair.
It's long like mine isn't it?
I just couldn't bend over the bath anymore so dh had to do it

FrayedKnot · 12/07/2008 10:29

Morning

Housework done

Now off to do supermarket shopping

If you can think of anything more exciting than that Franny, I wish you well

I am going out tonight though, to a friend's for supper and vodka

Guadalupe · 12/07/2008 10:40

I liked Juno very much. I am going to get the soundtrack too, there are lots of bands on there that I haven't heard for ages and some new ones. I like squeaky female singers.

Well, I was doing quite well until I went on the white bread thread and then I ate three slices of banana cake.m This morning, mango, banana, pomegranate, peach and raspberry fruit salad with yoghurt.

It is dd's drama show in a bit, I hope ds2 stays asleep, he is spotty and grumpy.

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 11:29

I do it in the shower Lully
I am normally a shocker for leaving it unwashed for over a week sometimes but have been v good lately
I think if I have to sit around with greasy hair and a new baby it will be revolting

FK this is a sad confession but I actually miss getting the shopping
I find it quite satisfying in a hunter gatherer providing for my family kind of way, but I just can't do it atm
I agree is chore when you HAVE to do it

poor ds2 Lupe. Do you still think it is slapped cheek?

Guadalupe · 12/07/2008 14:00

I do, franny, yes. He was really hot and unwell in the night and there is a still a body rash and very red cheeks, can't see what else it could be although I suppose a doctor might say a virus like they always do.

The show was great except he was good for 20 mins and then started shouting and wanting to walk down the stairs. I do feel people should take small noisy children out if possible, epspecially if it distracts the actors so out we went. I walked round and round and FINALLY he went to sleep ten mins before the end as as luck would have it, dd hadn't been on since I went out and when I came back she leapt on it a blue wig and pink glasses for a hairspray rendition.

It was great but she did stand out a bit as the youngest, they range up to 16 and are very good some of them. DD kept waving and the girl next to her kept putting her hand down and frowning at her but she still waved and forgot all her moves.

FrayedKnot · 12/07/2008 14:08

Actually Franny I also like shopping, when I have time to do it properly - with browsing and reading ingredients - instead of squeezing it in a rush between different activities or with DS trying to "push" the trolley (i.e. ramming it into unsuspecting old ladies).

DH said would I like him & DS to come along this morning, and I nearly had heart failure

Now they have gone into town with the promise of the second hand toy shop and I am going to have a nap

Cherries, an apple, celery, cucumber, lettuce.

littlerach · 12/07/2008 14:27

WEll we didn't watch any of them last night.
WE ended up watching osme rock downlaod programme on a freeview music channel. lol.
And then found bands we used to like on youtube.
i'd almost forgoptten about New Model Army, but still remembered most fo the words.
Funny how that happens.

DH is off to work this afternoon, then we're all off to a BBQ tonight.

Tomatoes
Strawberries

The show sounds wonderful Guad! Especially the waving Sorry that ds2's poorly though. DD has a bit of a rash on her back but she seems fine so I'm ignoring just monitoring it.

Had some carrots straight from MILs garden. Literally straight out and wiped down on my jeans!! Then worried about toxoplasmosis and things! I have some more carrots and some lettuce too.

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 14:51

oooh lunch
they only seemed to have vegetarian starters for some reason, not main courses, so I ordered about 5, it was marvellous
ds and I shared :
baked camembert with crusty bread and redcurrant jelly
lentil and nut croquettes that were mildly spiced and very moist, with aoili or however you spell it, and a salad
mozzarella, tomato and rocket salad
peas and carrots
big crispy chips

and then we all shared an eton mess and a knickerbocker glory which were ABSOLUTELY SUBLIME
local fruit and a raspberry coulis that was SO good, and homemade raspberry ripple ice cream, and really thick thick sweet cream and chewy meringue for the Eton mess
I feel like driving out there again tomorrow just to have puddings again

and as just said on the overdue whinging thread NOBODY MENTIONED ME BEING PG
not one little iota
they didn't even bat an eyelid or raise an eyebrow or snigger a tiny little snigger, even when I ordered this most preposterous quantity of food

it was wonderful

FrannyandZooey · 12/07/2008 14:53

I want to watch a very light and entertaining film tonight and dp has suggested Finding Nemo
is it any good?
I am sure people on here have mentioned good children's films recently but I can't remember what they might have been
no scary or sad bits please

Tatties · 12/07/2008 15:14

I am mooncupping

What a feast! Sounds wonderful. I have started to watch Finding Nemo. I wasn't keen tbh, but then I was watching it from the perspective of parent checking suitability for ds

MrsC I hope ds2 is better soon

OsmosisBanana · 12/07/2008 15:34

I wasn't overly taken with Finding Nemo TBH and I really wanted to like it as we had a fight with SD's mum over who got to do the cinema visit for that one. We didn't win. We never do!

I forgot how hideous town was on a Sat. Thanks for putting Calvin Harris in my head a few days ago Fran, have been looking for a copy ever since - nowt. Apparently everyone In Bristol has a copy except me.

Also, new Portishead £22???? You wot?

Ah, should go to the music thread shouldn't I.

Any news? pute now more broken than it was before we sent it off to the fixer uppers so reading through thread painfully slow.

LullyOfShallot · 12/07/2008 15:42

Not keen on Nemo
Sad & scary & drags in places.

all we seem to watch is Mr Benn,Bagpuss or captain Pugwash
Oh & Charlie & Lola.
Curious George was quite sweet
