For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Anyone watching the cricket? Broad and Bell are doing spectacular things. I have a soft spot for Stuart Broad. His Dad chased me around our garden in Pakistan when I was 8 and he was very drunk.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:39

You def should, bit gruesome though. FBI Behavioural Assesment Unit forensic drama type thing. A little bit like CSI but darker.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 15:46

I love watching cricket

All those whites make me go all unneccessary

No sky though so no live cricket (am at work anyway). 535-6. It's going to be a draw isn't it? IIRC SA can bat - we are unlikely to bowl them out quickly enough.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:47

Updated commentary on timesonline over by over.

I'm at work too.

Not that you'd know it.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:48

SA looking 'a bit overweight' according to one of our commentators so hopefully we'll sort em out.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 15:49

oooh lovely

I see Pietersen had a good innings

And Vaughan didn't

They need to declare imvho

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 15:50

oops x post

I wasn't really "oh lovely"ing about SA being "a bit overweight" but may let the comment stand

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 15:52

Let Bell get 200 then declare

I should be in charge

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:52

I could do bad things to KP. Dunno why, not really my type. You can see his back muscles through his shirt you know.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:54

Totally agree TF.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 15:59

On both counts. I actually accidentally wrote cunts but thought that a tad unfair.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 16:00

mmmm yes. KP mmmmmmmmmm, lovely. I bet he could be, erm, imaginative.

Vaughan though. I do love a man in charge. He seems very calm. And I would be thinking of dh, of course, as they are both from Yorkshire

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:01

Hums to self with hands clasped behind back looking around for someone to blither at /with

Fran? You having a baby yet? My pute is back online at home so you are no longer restricted to working hours. I'm sure that's the news you've been waiting to hear all day.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:02

Vaughan is quite nice but I think Collingwood would do a better job. Ahem.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:03

We've rather turned this into a cricket thread. Will we be tried for insubordination?

Is it a cricket thread now though? We seem to have got a little sidetracked...

Plenty of opportunity for f&v eating whilst watching cricket. The two are not by any means mutually exclusive. [clutches passing straw]

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:15

I was convinced DD would be 2 days early. Dunno why, just got it into my head. Was horrified nay enraged when she was a whole day later than my actual due date.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:17

Went back to FranWatch for a moment there - we'll have Bill Oddie popping in for a bit soon. Hopefully he won't stay long.

Looks like Broad might push on to the 600 quicker than Bell can and he'll miss his 200.

Poor ol Belly.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 16:22

lol @ FranWatch. I would be slightly perturbed at being followed by Bill Oddie but no doubt Jelly, Jackson and Mr Tumble would get involved at some point and that would probably send me over the edge

Broad should perhaps let Bell take the strike, but I suppose he's pushing for a century. Trouble is I don't think we need another 50 runs so they both get to their target. A degree of altruism may be called for here.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 16:23

Bell scoring again

180no

Am off home now, will have to find something on the radio for in the car.

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2008 16:24

Good lord. Did you write that yourself TF or are you stealing from another cricket site?

Small, polite round of applause suitable for a Lord's crowd.

TigerFeet · 11/07/2008 16:29

I actually wrote it myself

Am frustrated sports journo, probably

I can wheel out all the cheesy lines

Guadalupe · 11/07/2008 16:48

I am having a drink tonight, the prosseco is getting nice and cold. I have been good all week though, apart from small glass of red on wednesday.

I have also made a whole batch of fishcakes read to fry and a large banana rum and raisin cake as there were thousands of black bananas. I will not eat this as I am on a diet too but I tasted a bit that stuck to the paper and it was very nice.

If I hadn't made the dinner earlier I would be sending DH out for fish and chips as I am knackered by this time on a friday. I think takeaway once a week is too much. I am going to aim for once a month and be only mildy chiding if it's once a fortnight.

I have also, finally, got Juno to watch so I am looking forward to this evening.

FrannyandZooey · 11/07/2008 17:15

TooT - Ds and I have started Comet in Moominland I didn't think he would be ready for Moomins for a while yet but I got desperate and it has been great success, hurrah

we were getting to the end of my collection of Oz books and only a couple of scarier ones left - tried Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz and got serious grief off dp for frightening ds so much (dp is on bad dream duty atm) - it really is more or less the darkest Oz book IMO

anyway in panic to stop reading DATW in Oz I grabbed Comet
all going down v well
lots of exciting / scary bits but overall such a cosy and reassuring culture that it hasn't caused any problems
I think a lot of the other Moomin books are again too dark or just too metaphysical to read yet - what would you suggest we try after Comet, TooT? (or other Moomin fans also of course)

ooh dinner time
