For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

OB poor you.

Sorry gossip issue has gone horrid and grim, Boco.

hello zippi

Apple, peach. Leftover lentil & mush roast from yesterday. (TooT, the sauce is just chop courgette, chop a small onion or shallot, fry in lots of olive oil without letting liquid from courgette steam off, add a little water if necess and herbs to taste (a splash of white wine works well too), whizz with blender stick, simmer for a few mins). Baked red pepper and rice with tomatoes. Apricot. Er... I'd say 8.

TooTicky · 08/07/2008 20:36

Franny, tell me you still love me or I will lie down on the floor and kick and cry.

Guadalupe · 08/07/2008 20:37

tell your dp to text back and say 'when are you going to read Proust?'

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:37

(What do you call those blender sticks? The German name translates as 'puree wand' )

Guadalupe · 08/07/2008 20:38

hand blender

pinkspottywellies · 08/07/2008 20:38

Nice one Guad

TooTicky · 08/07/2008 20:38

Thank you Bero, will try the sauce
We struggle a bit with pasta sauces what with some of us being dairy free and the boys being tomato-phobic.

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:39

FFS at SIL's text, Franny. Are silly-moo-ish comments her speciality?

UnderRated · 08/07/2008 20:39

We're having Lentil roast tonight. Bero

Thanks for the 'recipe', FMV - will add to List.

Tatties · 08/07/2008 20:39

Evening all

For dinner we had leftovers from the minestrone I made yeaterday. It was lovely, I put in garlic, onions, celery, leek, courgette, potato, carrots, cannellini beans, tomatoes... yum... first proper batch-cooking I've done for a while

pinkspottywellies · 08/07/2008 20:39

Ooh. I'm going to start calling mine puree wand. I like it!

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:40

Ah MrsC. That sounds a reasonable name. Puree wand indeed.

TooTicky · 08/07/2008 20:40

Hand blender sounds painful. I say stick blender. The wand sounds fun though.

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:41

x posts pink Sorry. Think I am just a little fed up of Germanisms - as one would be, living here.

Tatties · 08/07/2008 20:42

German has some brilliant words doesn't it

Tatties · 08/07/2008 20:42

LOL x-posts bero!

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:43

It's the huge one-word multi-concept compound nouns I'm still not used to. It's actually another way of thinking about things.

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:46

(in German 'one-word multi-concept compound noun' would almost certainly be, well, one word. I shall attempt it: er... Einwortmehrfachkonzeptsubstantivzusammensetzung.

pinkspottywellies · 08/07/2008 20:49

What in the name of all that is holy is a 'one-word multi-concept compound noun'? [lost]

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 20:52

TooT I love you

I am really sorry if you thought I was cross, I thought I said I wasn't and why would I have been anyway?
I am just dropping in here to moan like a hit and run person tbh so if I don't answer anyone it is because I am dwelling on poor poor poor planet sized little old me

berolina · 08/07/2008 20:54

Germans pack lots of nouns into one big long one-word noun. see here Most are not that extreme.

TooTicky · 08/07/2008 20:54

Sorry, I am being high maintenance
I just wanted to make sure you weren't upset.

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 20:57

oh dear no not high maintenance, I have probably been being jolly rude, but it was entirely unintentional
if anyone else has noticed me being jolly rude to TooT please come on and kick me a bit
