For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

This week! We are looking at them this week! On Weds morning, to be precise!
See what I mean?

berolina · 07/07/2008 22:24

Not morbid, UR. I've got written plans for my funeral And a will, but not a valid one, as it needs to be done in handwriting or by a solicitor.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/07/2008 22:25

Hello everyone who is here

Guadalupe · 07/07/2008 22:25

Pink, call me what you like

UR - Not morbid no, I think that sounds lovely. I did think of you when I was there. There were no rowdy campers, the place was pretty deserted really.

pinkspottywellies · 07/07/2008 22:25

Guad it might be worth finding a company that do conversions for disabled vehicles etc. DH uses a company up here for work and they do all sorts from adding ramps/lifts etc for disabilities to just ply-lining white vans. I'm sure they would know about adding seatbelts. I might be able to find out more if you want.

I'm off to bed. Night all x

Guadalupe · 07/07/2008 22:26

Thanks, Pink, that's a good idea.

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 22:28

Night PSW.

Hope you feel a bit better soon, Bero. Sounds like a lot going on. Come and rant when you need to.

Am glad it doesn't sound too morbid. I really love that area. And the bees. Oh, the bees...

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 22:56

Franny, have I offended you? Sorry

Stiffkey sounds better and better! Shame it's so far away.

Hope you find a good kindergarten Bero, and if you have a mo please tell me how you make your yellow courgette sauce....

Boco, that sounds dreadfully complicated. Hope it sorts itself out and that people aren't silly and huffy.

UR, you must have a bumper crop of raspberries!!

We had homegrown peas this evening and they were heavenly.

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 22:58

Hello Pink

Hello Idris

Hello MrsC

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 22:59

TF, patching goes on for months ?
I was envisaging weeks!

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 22:59

Aren't home grown peas fabulous? We eat them like sweets.

Franny, are you busy having a baby? A friend of mine was due on Saturday and hasn't had him yet. I'm not very good at waiting patiently. If one of you would have a baby in the next day or two, I'd be very grateful.

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 23:44

Oh yes indeedy, wonderful things. We are growing LOTS this year - many of the sweet green ones we had today and some of last year's purple podded ones which are just perfect in stews. But the young pods are delish too....

I have taken to reading my battered seed catalogue rather regularly.

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 23:45

Oh LittleRach, it is Bowood.

zippitippitoes · 07/07/2008 23:47

UnderRated · 08/07/2008 04:11

Ooo, hello zippi. Are you back for good or just popping in to say Hello? Hope RL is ok.

Bananas (2)
Tomatoes
Raspberries
Blackberries (2)
Olives
Was that all?

My jam is runny I am crap at making Jam. It shouldn't be hard but I never get it right. And every time I think, 'it'll be ok this time' but it never sets. I will never be a domestic goddess

UnderRated · 08/07/2008 04:16

Oh, I went for a RUN

littlerach · 08/07/2008 08:12

A run!!!
Very good.

TooTicky, i didn't know that about Bowood.
When is it?

The job is Chair of the preschool that i volunteer at.
We are a charity, and no one came forward to be Chair this year. I have doen it ofr 2 years. So we went to the school whose grounds we are in and they offered to take us over, and to pay someone ot do the role of Chair, like an admin manager. And offered me the job - hurrah!
But, they can't take us over due to various beauracratic nonsense.
So they offered us a governor who will be Chair in name, but still for me to do the role and be paid, but not haVE the legal responsibilities.
But they have to advertise it, and one woman form the committee has applied.
She is very nice, but kind of thought it would be guaranteed hers.
The governor has hinted that the intervie is a formaility and th ejob is mine, but I feel awkward.
Still, have ot move on!!!!!

Thanks for support though.
And sory for ramble and awful typing.

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 08:13

TooT NO oh dear what did I say? was I trying to be funny? Probably, sorry

I am hoping to be buried here - dp has his orders. I never fancied cremation so am very glad burial is becoming feasible again even if you are not churchy - I would pick a churchyard if I could as I love them but am not Christian so small problem there

filthymindedvixen · 08/07/2008 09:02

oh franny, may I book a plot there too???
We have a green burial site near us, tis a meadow I want a tree planting - an oak! and bluebells.

TigerFeet · 08/07/2008 09:22

Someone has sent me an email this morning containing pictures of vegetables that looked like rude things

Hello zippi, hope RL is being kind

Well done on the run UR but on the jam. Can you call it compote and use it to drizzle over puddings?

Sounds like the job's in the bag littlerach

I have always said I would like to be buried under a tree. I need to get my will written so I think I will make sure that it's stated in there exactly how I am to be disposed of.

Boco · 08/07/2008 09:55

OMG
I just fed the guinea pigs. I took their bowl and the plastic container with the dry food in, and poured, and instead of food, out plopped.........A LIVE MOUSE!

Did cartoon scooby doo scream and dash, urg, still shuddering, I like mice, but not unexpectedly, from a height, into a dish.

The gossip thing has got SO much worse. Am very upset about it, friend has been told a terrible lie, is much worse than I thought. Still have the ticket, but am working on my own, they will probably stare and throw things

TigerFeet · 08/07/2008 10:01

Oh Boco Is there no way you can get hold of friend and put your side of the story across? Sounds like things are being blown massively out of proportion and I think the only person who can put a stop to it is you.

at mouse

I have never (to my knowledge) had a mouse in the house although they do live under our shed. If I saw one I would scream like a girl and leap onto the nearest available chair, 50's housefwife style.

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 10:27

oh no Boco
I hate this kind of thing - the gossip / lie thing
sometimes it makes things worse to try to put it right - and you sort of think people should not have to be told anyway - but it is very hard to know what to do for the best

am very sympathetic about mouse

we seem to have fruit fly infestation in fact am going to start thread
