when i was waiting for my kidney it seemed like the longest time but when I had fully recovered all the bad times melted away and I wake up every day grateful for my new life.Although my heart has caused concern at times i am not in your dh's position It really will be a new life for you all when this is over BTW it is almost certainly the size of his heart pressing on lungs causing breathlessness as that happened to me The drugs I am on have slightly reduced the heart size and I am a lot less breathless so you are right. If he has swollen ankles etc that don't clear then his heart is getting less able to pump and so hopefully he will be near the top of the list.If you were closer to me I would be there like a shot lots of love to you all noddyxx

noddyholder · 28/01/2005 09:32

why doesn't he get incapacity benefit?

misdee · 28/01/2005 09:32

cheers noddy

he does get IB. but they want to assess him again.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 28/01/2005 09:53

They probably won't want to see him again, misdee, the questionnaires are usually just to make sure that nothing has improved, to make sure he's still entitled to IB. They're sent out by computer, it's nothing to worry about. Fill it in, send it back and you probably won't hear anything from them for another 2 years.

I hope he's doing OK today.

When i came onto this site i had never seen cardiomyopathy mentioned. since i have said about dh being ill, i have 'met' so many of you with different cardiomyopathy's. i think the only one i havent come across is restrictive cardiomyopathy.

dont feel guilty, glad that youhave both found someone to talk to about this.

Anyway, i justphoned the hospital, dh lungs are clear, which means all pneumonia has gone, no sign of infection etc, which is a good thing. But they are concerned about fluid retentions, breathlessness, fatigue etc, and it may be that he gets transferred to harefield hospital for further tests and adjustment of meds. Just gotta wait and see what happens now.
