dh has been moved upto cardiology ward now, and on monday the caridologist is contatcting harefield.

Mummylonglegs, there are different types of caridomyopathy as you may have gathered from swilt and noddyholder's posts. They have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is generally felt to run in families, tho some people just have it. its a thickening of the heart muscle. Then there is dilated cardiomyopathy, which is an enlarged floppy heart. this can be inherited or it can be caused by a virus (commanly the Coxsackie B virus). dh blood screens after diagnosis were inconclusive, so they are not really 100% sure of his DCM. even if its caused by a virus then the immeidate family members should have regular screening anyway.
Post partum cardiomopathy happenes during pregnancy or shortly afterwards, but i belive it is very rare.

there are 2 other types as well, restrictive cardiomyopathy and Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, which i dont know much about.

noddyholder

Yes after 16 hours of labour, can't have helped a dodgy heart . But is not called Post partum for nothing. He eventually came out through the sun roof.

LapsedGymJunkie · 29/01/2005 10:36

Misdee

My prayers are with you.

Much love

LGJ

LapsedGymJunkie · 29/01/2005 10:39

Just a thought girls, but maybe we should start a seperate thread as this one really is for supporting Misdee.

Off out shopping with my bad influence friend, so if someone else could do it I would be grateful.

Unless Misdee is happy to leave it here.

Misdee over to you.

misdee · 29/01/2005 10:43

i'm ok with it here. its interesting to hear other peoples stories.

How's your dh tonight misdee?

I've been thinking about you a lot today ...

misdee · 29/01/2005 21:33

no change. in better mood even tho he is on a ward with most people over 70. all the elderly visitors were giving me and dh odd looks, must be odd to them to see a young man (25) on cardio ward. At least he isnt at the CCU end this time. The girls want to see him tomorrow, so i'll only be able to do a short visit.

will find out monday whats happening with Harefield.

I see my consultant on weds, they may want to induce me, if they do and dh is still in hospityal i am going to request to be induced at the same hospital as dh.
