For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Illy Illy Illness here,

after my fruit stuffed brekkie yesterday I didn't manage to keep snything down except a dry biscuit and half a slice of toast, feel crappy. Am off work, and sipping ginger tea wth honey and lemon to ease my throat. Yuck.

Thanks for book Franny, I am going to bed, and will try and read a bit of it later if I wake up before I have to pick DD up.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 24/06/2008 08:49

sorry for poorly people...

It is our anniversary today - 13 years! Dh brought me red roses - which is a first. Poor lamb had a nightmare trying to get 13 of them as they are sold in dozens. And one place refused to seel him 13 as ''it's unlucky''. I am strangely thrilled.
And nice jangly necklace and earrings too. We are both at work today so we are going en famille to a chinese buffet tonight where picky boy can eat his bodyweight in duck pancakes and ds1 can eat his bodyweight in prawns.

ds1 ruined a beutiful moment this morning by coming in whiile we were cuddling and announcing ''will you be making sex tonight then?''

[passion killed]

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2008 09:07

oh lord wombling are you sure that is the right book to read when ill?

Morning

nectarines, bananas and raspberries.

The wedding was lovely. We drank too much champagne of course and got hardly any sleep in the van due to torrential downpours but it was dry in the morning and we had a fantastic walk across the marsh. No-one around for miles, bright blue sky, turns screeching, an old boat tilted on the horizon, marsh heather and samphire growing everywhere, it really s beautiful. Dcs love the crabbing bridge there.

It was so lovely we wanted to stay but thought it possibly wasn't 'on' to see our friends walking across the field on their honeymoon and
wave and say 'hi we decided to stay too!'. It is fully booked until August now though so it might have to be during the week. Hiring a camper is extortionate so we may buy one. A VW is not big enough for us though, we might have to have an uglier one. We could of course just put up a tent but after years of camping dh has decided he likes vans more. Less hassle, easier to leave and so on. I quite like tents.

DS2 was stung by a bee this morning. He stood on it in the conservatory and it stuck to his foot. Poor thing. It is huge and red now.

TooTicky · 24/06/2008 09:29

Guadalupe your weekends sounds lovely! A van would be great.

Wombling sorry you're ill, hope you feel better soon.

Toot, dp went to Gordano. He really really hated it. His parents both worked there too.

Dilemma of the day - remember the girl who is dds best friend but keeps physically hurting her to get her to do what she wants? Yesterday dd told me that this girl in class asked dd to pinch her, kept on and on saying pinch my arm, it's for a joke. In the end, dd pinched her, and she ran up to the teacher and told on her and dd was told off for pinching and told not to be so silly. She was upset at the injustice of it. This morning the girls mother came up to me and whispered in my ear 'I don't want to worry you, but your dd pinched my dd, and when it comes to pinching, it's a bit more serious isn't it'. I explained dds version which she dismissed. She just said 'well, I thought I should make you aware.

Gah! The injustice!

So, was going to speak to the teacher, but then she did pinch, even if tricked, and this mother was also whispering in the teacher's ear too, so I'll just sound petty won't I?

TooTicky · 24/06/2008 09:41

Hello Idris

Stuffit, have emailed you

LullyOfShallot · 24/06/2008 09:42

Oooooh that sounds simply lovely MrsC

Lolol at 6 tins of peaches

Franny you are super spatone woman all of a sudden

Thankyou everyone for nut loaf recipes
I shall attempt one today

Dh is having lunch with Prince Philip,Prince Andrew & other motley grouping of people today.
I actually ironed him a shirt

TooTicky · 24/06/2008 09:44

Actually, I think the teacher is likely to treat whispering mothers with the contempt they deserve. Hope so anyway.
And your poor dd - the only good thing is that she will learn from this and be wiser next time.

LullyOfShallot · 24/06/2008 09:45

Oh Boco
That's horrid
beastly little girl, silly silly dint of a mother
oooooooooh grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr for you & dd
You need to send her in with a spy camera & record all these incidents.

Wombling lovely one

TooTicky · 24/06/2008 09:46

Goodness Lully! Are you not invited? Would you go if you were?
My grandfather once went to a garden party at Buckingham palace. For services to literature.

LullyOfShallot · 24/06/2008 09:47

I was wondering about the book too Toot.........

TooTicky · 24/06/2008 09:47

book?

Guadalupe · 24/06/2008 09:48

Boco - I would make an appointment about the whole issue and the pinching thing could come up in it. You need to say that there has been bullying disguised by niceness and it is getting out of hand. Even if you dd did pinch her without prompting (we know truth but you have to see it from their view) this is one incident out of many cases of physical nastiness and control and You Are Very Concerned About It.

Your school sounds like a complete PITA actually. Combine harvesters and village fetes are all very well but the school ethos seems stuck in the 50's too.

LullyOfShallot · 24/06/2008 09:49

No...not invited
We were invited to the palace for the garden party on my due date but didn't fancy waddling around grounds with the prospect of my waters breaking & gushing all over the Queens shoes
