No. I have had a pretty wide-ranging sexual past but virtually all of it involved the use of condoms.

no luckylady

tho reason for having a test recently was to have no condom sex with bf so we both had a full check

Mercy · 19/06/2008 17:49

I had one in my 20s - trich something or other and it was most unpleasant but went very quickly after treatment.

It happened during one of the very rare times I didn't insist on belt and braces with the boyfriend of the time. Men are carriers and symptom free iirc.

fawkeoff, I won't even use the word admit! It's not a crime or anything - we were just unlucky, STIs are not exactly unusual.

thewiltedrose · 19/06/2008 18:16

i said yes already before you

Mercy · 19/06/2008 19:11

WR??

ok, so 4 of us have had an STI (4 out of the many thousands who post here!)

Tinker · 19/06/2008 19:16

whitetulips · 19/06/2008 19:21

I had chlamydia 3 months ago, and only ever been with hubby, but he works abroad and spends most of his time away but is saying nothing......

FrannyandZooey · 19/06/2008 19:25

yes i have

FrannyandZooey · 19/06/2008 19:26

and people I know have

well that would make sense really wouldn't it as one of them gave it to me

but I mean, people I know other than that have also

MrsTittleMouse · 19/06/2008 19:29

I might have had (probably did, come to think of it). I had a dodgy smear test many years ago that could have been the result of an HPV infection (although I never had any other symptoms and I was never tested - luckily I didn't need any treatment and have had no problems since). I used condoms, and the GP thinks that it was probably spread through non-penetrative sex.

itwasntme · 19/06/2008 19:32

I caught herpes from a bloke I was seeing in university. And we used protection.

I also had warts in my early twenties.

I was no more a slapper than anyone else I knew... just unlucky.

Bink · 19/06/2008 19:32

What's this I don't know a soul big deal? It's just piling up the stigma. Very modern. (I don't think.)

I've had chlamydia - probably had had it for quite a long time, as it's completely "silent" in women, before it was picked up at a (very sensible, free, supportive & well-organised) general screening we were all offered when I went to grad school. It is likely that the effects of that chlamydia contributed to the miscarriages I had years & years later. So let's not get all whispery giggly, OK, OP?

Monkeytrousers · 19/06/2008 19:32

You will never get a woman to admit this Cod! Mern will - women defo not

Monkeytrousers · 19/06/2008 19:34

Well apart from the above two. Brave ladies. Kudos to you

beansontoast · 19/06/2008 19:36

yep!..not warts,not herpes

Monkeytrousers · 19/06/2008 19:38

Is there actually a stigma about chlamydia?

naturalblonde · 19/06/2008 19:42

My friend caught gornorrhoea (sp?) from a bloke she was seeing. It was terrible for her, she was really ill for ages. It was just lucky she found out early and had no lasting damage.

fawkeoff · 19/06/2008 19:43

whitetulips fucking wanker....he doesnt have to say anything does he????

I'm not ashamed of it, and you're right i shouldnt feel like it's a confession.....just one of those things....just we are brave enough to wear our badges
