Hope this is ok - both other threads seem to be full or almost full now.

We are all thinking of you Jo.

Trifles and rum and bubbles at the ready.

i do have some latex free gloves i can use as long as they fit over bandage, i look like i have been in a fight, so not a good look

sundew · 20/06/2008 21:30

Hi OJ - hope you are OK. I have been thinking about you and your brood over the past few weeks.

I'm sure a rum and coke will help your hand - some natural anaesthetic

Hope you have a good nights sleep and no contact from the dreaded inlaws tomorrow.

bossybritches · 20/06/2008 21:33

Sorry I meant latex free plastic bags naturally!!

CurrantBM · 20/06/2008 21:34

Jo, I haven't posted for the last week or so, as my dear Little Nan passed away last Sunday evening.

We did eat trifle on Wednesday evening, GU at that.

Sorry to hear your IL's are causing so much trouble for you, it's hard enough dealing with the loss of someone when you are getting support from your family, I can't imagine how you are feeling.

Sending love as always.

onlyjoking9329 · 20/06/2008 21:35

can i have rum & coke with erythromycin?
Debs said i could with amoxocilin.

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/06/2008 21:39

Sounds like a fancy new cocktail, OJ!

FAQ · 20/06/2008 21:41

Glad I could help (I do come in useful for somethings )

bossybritches · 20/06/2008 21:43

oo-er Oj I wouldn't only because it might make you feel bleurgh!!

Erythromycin is a bugger for that! sorry!!

Dottydot · 20/06/2008 21:50

OJ - just catching up with this thread - your in-laws are clearly barking bonkers mad - I hope you can find the strength to ignore them and lean on your wonderful friends as much as you need to. Thinking of you all xxxx

sundew · 20/06/2008 21:54

I'm sure it is just metronidazole you have to avoid drinking with.

Might be worth a quick phone call to NHS Direct to check if you wanted a strong one though!

buzzcocks · 20/06/2008 22:00

OJ, they wont fight you for the house will they?

onlyjoking9329 · 20/06/2008 22:35

i would not been suprorized at anythin to be honest, i allready had the house before i meet steve
thou thst will not stop rhen syoo them

WendyWeber · 20/06/2008 22:51

oj, have you been taking erythromycin with your rum & coke again?

I agree with whoever said treat them like naughty toddlers and ignore, ignore, ignore. All the people who matter to the children and you are on your side already.

It's a shame for them that they can't see how much better it would be for everybody if you were all on the same side but they do have HUGE ISSUES after all (and those are their own problem, never yours).

Please try to put aside their attempts to bug you.

managed to have a bath and bath the kids without getting hand wet
the postie has been this morning
i received a letter for Steve from the
wankers at DWP, saying that they have looked
again at the facts, and evidence and have decided that Steve is no longer
allowed to have carers allowance.

chocaholic73 · 21/06/2008 11:53

at your bathing success
at officialdom ....the government, with all its upmarket websites etc etc, still doesnt manage to get things right.
You are wonderful to be able to joke about all this ...love to you and the children

bigcar · 21/06/2008 13:13

You had some lovely readings at the funeral oj. You might also get some telesales people phoning and asking for Steve, be blunt, you'd be amazed at how quickly they put the phone down and for some reason, they never call back Thinking of you as always x

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/06/2008 17:21

It was one of the things that my dad found most upsetting after my mum died, how much post he received for her.

There is someone you can write to - postal equivalent of the telephone preference service I suppose - and it's supposed to stop all junk mail, but it never really worked.

mummylin2495 · 21/06/2008 22:53

thinking of you oj and hope you have all enjoyed today doing something together xx

triplets · 21/06/2008 23:34

Good evening Oj,
How is your hand? Not surprised by the letter, we kept getting reminders for Matthew to have his eyes tested for up to a year afterwards, it first of all used to upset me, then it made me angry! So hope the kids are coping, I think of you all often xx

Buda · 22/06/2008 08:05

Morning OJ - how are you doing today?

Hope your hand is healing.

I am sure you will get loads of post addressed to Steve - it will be distressing I am sure.

OP posts:
Tickle · 22/06/2008 08:18

onlyjoking9329 · 22/06/2008 08:35

we had a lovely day
we went to morrisons to let the kids buy a comic , it is always interesting cos Abbey alwys say very loudly we've got a childens magazine are you going to choose an adult magazine [ blush]
elliot went out with our mate Steve to see a steam engine and have a few rides whilst us girls cuddled mate 7 month granddauther and gave her a bath.
we had tea with them then got home and had 4 mares round, it was a late night and I only managed 2 hours sleep my hand feels fine thou my fingers were swollen last night so my rings are stuck on, fingers are less swollen this morning.
elliot has brought me me coffee in bed [ grin]

TotalChaos · 22/06/2008 08:35

Sorry to hear the ILs are still harassing you. Thanks for sharing your friend's description of the funeral service, I'm glad you have such lovely friends to support you.

BandofMothers · 22/06/2008 08:43

OJ you sound good. I hope his family dont hassle you too much. But just think of the day when it is all sorted and you can have nothing more to do with them ever. Champagne that day I think

What did Steve want done with his ashes?? Was it in his will so his family can't argue (much)??

mother3 · 22/06/2008 08:56

Oj .You cant have much more thrown at you at this momement in time. You have dealt with this as any body else would have not be able to deal with . Only thing can only get better.Sounds a stupid thing to say but you inspire others. You deservse the peace mind .Elliot is the man of the house even he is the youngest. It goes to show that there is a lot of love in your house.Try to hang on there sending prayers for you and children.Get stupid mother in law out of your life( and family)I have heard of building bridges but they dont deserve that
