Hope this is ok - both other threads seem to be full or almost full now.

We are all thinking of you Jo.

Trifles and rum and bubbles at the ready.

OJ - agree with bundle.

If you want to bring him home again, do.

(nice drop of cash for the rum fund )

Izabella · 16/07/2008 19:45

Jo, you'll know what the right thing to do with Steve's ashes when you're there and if you are in any doubt at all there will always be a next time so bring them home again. Sorry that the tax credit people are giving you hassle. I hope you get your CB through very soon. I know its a pain but once its sorted, it will be well worth having.

I really do hope that you have a very restful time in Lanzerote and that as much as you will miss Steve and wish that he was with you & the kids, that you would also feel a comfort and even peace whilst you are there. I'll pray that you'll meet him in your dreams. I'll be thinking of you and the kids whilst you are away. Lots of love. xxx

VaginaShmergina · 16/07/2008 20:11

Hi OJ, so sorry to see you are still fighting the "system" What a load of bollox you are having to go through eh ?

As for Mike, I dont think you should pee on him if he was on fire. He has no place in your family now, he has shown full well what he is capable of and he has nothing to offer you or the children other than pain.

I really do hope you have a peaceful holiday and can have some quality time with the children. Am very much liking the idea of the rum fund, maybe you could slip in a Southern Comfort too

Take care dear Jo x

goldpony · 16/07/2008 20:36

Have a wonderful holiday OJ and kids. Leave all concerns about forms and annoying bureaucracy behind; get your holiday togs on, eat icecreams and splash in the sea... then pour yourself a lovely refreshing rum and coke - appletons though, i hope

Don't pressure yourself to do anything with Steve's ashes if you don't feel it is what you want to do now. You're absolutely entitled to change your mind about how and what you think is best. I'm sure Steve would be very happy with whatever decision you make.

LilRedWhiskGers · 16/07/2008 21:30

OJ - I hope you have a good break with the children. As I said before, if you want to bring Steve home again, then do. There are always other trips. x

MrsJonnyDepp · 16/07/2008 22:51

Hope you have a peacefull time away OJ. Thinking of you xxx

onlyjoking9329 · 16/07/2008 23:17

thanks for making me feel better I thought I would be a failure if I didn't do the ashes I put myself under a lot of pressure to do the right thing all the time, when I don't know what the right thing is, thing is we only get the one chance to get things right and this is all new to us.
Since august when we were told that Steve would die I have found so much comfort and support from MN I couldn't talk to Steve or his family as they were in denial I didn't want to burden mates in the earlier days either, debs has been a lifeline she says I am an inspiration but I think she is the inspiration without her tracey the kids and MN we wouldn't have got this far, thankyou all.
I am hhoping my iPhone will connect to MN if not I will send texts to keep in touch.

WendyWeber · 16/07/2008 23:47

oj, hope you have a lovely time and manage to get some sleep for some of it (with or without rum )

You don't have to decide what to do with Steve's ashes until you are ready, even if that takes years.

Meanwhile hope you & Tracey & the kids enjoy the break (and some decent weather, sheesh)

WendyWeber · 16/07/2008 23:48

(I was wondering, why don't you get CB already?)

Madlentileater · 16/07/2008 23:58

OJ, the right thing is what is right for you, the girls and Elliot. You don't have a time limit, for the ashes or anything else. Enjoy yourselves, don't feel bad about any pleasure and rest you can get- that's what Steve would want.

onlyjoking9329 · 17/07/2008 00:03

I know I have to be up at 3 but I just can't sleep.
I didn't get CB cos Steve always got it cos he was SAHD whilst I went to work, we didn't change it over and even when he was told he was going to die he still insisted on getting the Cb cos he said whilst he got CB he got a NI stamp and he needed that so he got a pension at 65 I couldn't tell him different could I ?

WendyWeber · 17/07/2008 00:15

No...oh, bless him for thinking about his pension

Not much point trying to sleep now if you have to be up in 2 and a bit hours anyway. If you're all packed, have you got any DVDs you could watch while you're waiting?

itati · 17/07/2008 11:04

I am sorry you still have so much to do. You know we will help if we can.

Have a lovely holiday.

N x

fortyplus · 18/07/2008 12:20

Hi oj. I didn't dream about my dad for ages after he'd died, but I sometimes do now.

Hope the flight was ok.

Buda · 18/07/2008 12:27

The girls are asleep still, the pool look inviting I may just have to go for a swim.

bossybritches · 20/07/2008 09:04

Go on spoil yourself!!

Are you getting any better/longer sleep?

Glad it sounds so chilled for you -just what you needed.

chocaholic73 · 20/07/2008 09:31

Enjoy the sun! You definitely arent missing the weather here.
I would definitely second what fortyplus said ..took me several years before my subconscious seemed to process that my Mum and Dad were not around and they came back in dreams ...I still find it very reassuring 14 years later ...I have found this true for other major life events ..your dreams take a while to catch up. Anyway, hope you get some rest and relaxation and some enjoyable moments.

LilRedWhiskGers · 20/07/2008 14:54

Glad you are having a lovely time! x
