Dh very ill, will be going into the hospice on Wednesday

Dh is now very poorly. He is very thin, has no appetite, sleeps most of the day and is up most of the night.

The Macmillan nurse visited today and has told him to stay in bed, and he will have a bed in the hospice on Wednesday.

I don't know if this is 'it'. but he is getting very ill very quickly. At least he got to do his balloon ride yesterday, and got the formal news of his MBE a little while ago.

We have been lucky to have the extra time that we have had, and we have built some fine memories, but this is very hard. He is such a good man and doesn't deserve this. I don't know if I can post updates, I may well just use MN as a distraction.

Oh MB....I'm so sad for you.

Over the months I read your posts and have been so touched by teh way you describe your DH. The love you have for him and what you share just jumps from the screen....I concider myself lucky to experience even half that amount of love.

You, your Dh and the relationship you have together are all inspirational.

xx

Beautifully put LTH.

Nothing really I can add to that MB. Just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you and your lovely family.

I'm so glad the weather was good enough for the balloon ride. I sat in the garden at the weekend, with fingers crossed that the rain would stay away.... and it did.

PandaG · 16/06/2008 17:36

Oh MB, I am so sorry to read this. My love for you, Mr MB MBE and your lovely DC.

VaginaShmergina · 16/06/2008 17:39

MB, have watched from afar and now just wanted to ad my thoughts and love to you all at this difficult time.

You have both grabbed life by the balls and given it a good shake, hence, creating memories and doing special things.

The Hospice will give you invaluable support and guidance as to what happens next.

Fondest love x

MB, lovely, I hoped this wasn't your thread. So very sorry that things appear to be deteriorating so fast.

Lots of love to the whole family, and hope that Mr MB gets some respite in the hospice.

spudmasher · 16/06/2008 18:28

Oh MB. The hospice will make him feel better.
A positive story - my dad went to the most amazing hospice. They said he had a couple of days. 8 weeks later he came home and has had a good 3 weeks at home. He is going back into the hopice tomorrow perfectly confident that once again he will feel better and return home. The truth of it is, none of us knows exactly wht will happen or when and until then it ain't over.

Dottydot · 16/06/2008 18:33

MB - I'm so sorry - haven't got the words but will be thinking of you, Mr MB and your family xxx
