Dh very ill, will be going into the hospice on Wednesday

Dh is now very poorly. He is very thin, has no appetite, sleeps most of the day and is up most of the night.

The Macmillan nurse visited today and has told him to stay in bed, and he will have a bed in the hospice on Wednesday.

I don't know if this is 'it'. but he is getting very ill very quickly. At least he got to do his balloon ride yesterday, and got the formal news of his MBE a little while ago.

We have been lucky to have the extra time that we have had, and we have built some fine memories, but this is very hard. He is such a good man and doesn't deserve this. I don't know if I can post updates, I may well just use MN as a distraction.

Well done to dh on the mbe. That must make you all very proud. Thinking of you all.

MB i hope today wasnt too much of an ordeal for either of you.Im glad Mr MB has been given a lovely room.I would think that you deserve a good nights rest now ,especially after the shock of a few weeks ago when you, found him so ill. Now with the latest development you must be feeling very jaded so a rest is in order for you if you can. I am sure the hospice will do all they can to help Mr MB and make him feel comfortable.

MB - thinking of you all...

shrinkingsagpuss · 19/06/2008 08:23

Oh MB - I was thinking about you this morning - I'd barely had time since being back to catch up on OJ's sad news, and was wondering how Mr MB was. I'm so sorry he has deteriorated so fast.
Hope the hospice gives you both a bit of respite, and can maybe help settle MrMB a bit.
