Dh very ill, will be going into the hospice on Wednesday

Dh is now very poorly. He is very thin, has no appetite, sleeps most of the day and is up most of the night.

The Macmillan nurse visited today and has told him to stay in bed, and he will have a bed in the hospice on Wednesday.

I don't know if this is 'it'. but he is getting very ill very quickly. At least he got to do his balloon ride yesterday, and got the formal news of his MBE a little while ago.

We have been lucky to have the extra time that we have had, and we have built some fine memories, but this is very hard. He is such a good man and doesn't deserve this. I don't know if I can post updates, I may well just use MN as a distraction.

There have been some really sad threads on MN recently, yet when you read the huge amount of responses, there must be comfort that a great number of people are sending their support and wishes.

I am so sorry to read about you and your families situation, and will be thinking of you all x

Really sorry MB, thinking of you and your DH

Blandmum · 16/06/2008 15:12

This will be the third time he has been to the hospice as an in-patient. Sadly it is going to be the first time that he will be unable to walk in on his own two feet. It is all very different now, and things are changing almost day to day.

tiredemma · 16/06/2008 15:15

Look at all the wonderful things that you have done MB since he became ill- the Balloon ride- the sponsored walk, the weekends away- A fantastic acheivement to do all this with that bloody awful (shitty) disease hanging over him.
He must be incredibly tired now and need the support and help from the hospice.

I dont know what else to say- Im desperatly sad for you all

LIZS · 16/06/2008 15:48

I'm so sorry , just seen this. Sending all our best wishes and hoping the hospice can help.

Blu · 16/06/2008 15:58

No he doesn't deserve this, and neither do you. There is no way to reconcile such unfairness.

Hold tight - sending my love and strength.

An MBE - now that he does deserve and I am pleased that he has been honoured.
