Dh is now very poorly. He is very thin, has no appetite, sleeps most of the day and is up most of the night.

The Macmillan nurse visited today and has told him to stay in bed, and he will have a bed in the hospice on Wednesday.

I don't know if this is 'it'. but he is getting very ill very quickly. At least he got to do his balloon ride yesterday, and got the formal news of his MBE a little while ago.

We have been lucky to have the extra time that we have had, and we have built some fine memories, but this is very hard. He is such a good man and doesn't deserve this. I don't know if I can post updates, I may well just use MN as a distraction.

i am very sorry to hear this news but just wanted to point out that hospices are the most wonderful places and they will do all they can to make your husbands stay there so calm and yes they even have a lot of happiness.Wishing you both the strength to cope with it all.Mr MB has kept going so long from when you first posted about his illness,it seemed he was going to be here for years.

So so sorry MB. Take care of yourselves.

No of course you mustn't feel the need to post updates - this is your life, not a story for the press. Use MN anyway you like.

Be strong, take care.

Sorry you've had such a scary last few weeks. If this 'is it' then huge sympathies and I wish I could make the next bit easier. If it's not 'it' then make sure all of you rest whilst he's in the hospice. Have you seen his consultant?

Btw, can DH get an upgrade in decorations because Mr MB, MBE is rawther confusing!
