Dh very ill, will be going into the hospice on Wednesday

Dh is now very poorly. He is very thin, has no appetite, sleeps most of the day and is up most of the night.

The Macmillan nurse visited today and has told him to stay in bed, and he will have a bed in the hospice on Wednesday.

I don't know if this is 'it'. but he is getting very ill very quickly. At least he got to do his balloon ride yesterday, and got the formal news of his MBE a little while ago.

We have been lucky to have the extra time that we have had, and we have built some fine memories, but this is very hard. He is such a good man and doesn't deserve this. I don't know if I can post updates, I may well just use MN as a distraction.

I don't know if this is totally stupid or irrelevant, but given this sad change in circumstances, could be actually be awarded his MBE now?

The hospice will take over some of the burden of the practicalities of his care etc from you MB so you can spend time just sitting with him ,having cuddles & hopefully making some more memories to hold on to.

he is settled in and is in one of the nicer rooms, which is a bonus. He is very, very weak, and is confused some of the time.

On a ligher note, the paramedic who took him into the hospic is a bloke that I taught in Adult Ed. He needed a science GCSE pass to become a paramedic. So it was rather lovely to meet up with him, all be it is rather crap circumstances.

DD is finding it all rather hard, which is upsetting dh a bit.

Glad Mr MB got a nice room but so sorry you are all now at this juncture. Poor DD - this must be incredibly tough for you all.
