Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco I am so proud to know you vicariously - that is beautiful and ds1 was most admiring. It reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are.

Now, can you do nice writing? I will pay! (I want a song written out and illustrated....for DH)

Boco · 20/06/2008 19:59

Yes FMF - could do nice writing - but haven't you hired the toots for that?

Boco · 20/06/2008 20:00

(and thank you for saying nice things)

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 20:08

Boco, that is soooooooo beautiful

Franny, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you go all red and cross looking, it's just that I had really sharp labour-like pains in my back and have been known to over-sympathise with people.

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 20:17

Boco would do it better than me

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 20:22

"which is why i will never make a success of this illustration thing"

Boco, this is the Wrong Way to go about things. You can and you will [stern]

FrannyandZooey · 20/06/2008 20:28

oh TooT I was teasing about the crossness, sorry
I haven't any sharp pains in my back though

Boco we are not being nice! it is a beautiful, special picture.

Boco your picture is beautiful! Really. I am not going to do any more home improvements tonight. I am going to paint (not walls) until dp comes home

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 20:47

Who am I sympathising with then?
Perhaps I'm just being odd

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 20:52

I think the cataract thing is probably a protective measure, so removing it is probably very unhomeopathic BUT the doctor said that the peak age for vision is 7/8, so it is best to get him sorted asap. After cataract treatment - don't know what form this will take yet - he has to be made to use his poorly eye.
Apparently he is likely to have "switched it off", so will have to wear a patch over his good eye for a couple of hours each day. Which I predict will result in much wailing.

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 21:06

Where are you all?

Tatties · 20/06/2008 21:10

TooT did you get to bed early last night?

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 21:18

Ish. 11ish? Could have been worse.
All 4 dcs sleeping with me atm which is nice, so after I have read them all to sleep I just collapse.
Unless I haven't brushed my teeth, in which case I usually get distracted by MN on the way.....

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 21:19

Hope you had a good day.
Am off to bed soon I think.

Guadalupe · 20/06/2008 21:19

all of them?

Gosh, your bed must be huge! I don't suppose you can fit your dp in then. DH always moans that he is perched on the end of the bed while we stretch out.

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 21:22

No, dp works by night and sleeps by day anyway.
I have an edge, then it's dd2, then ds2, then dd1. Ds1 prefers to sleep by my feet.
It is a super king size.

Guadalupe · 20/06/2008 21:25

sounds cosy

I couldn't sleep with all of mine, dd coughs and jiffles, ds1 is way too long and also fidgets and I am a bad sleeper. It's bad enough with dh snoring away.

littlerach · 20/06/2008 21:26

that's a lot of poeple in one bed!!

We squish up to try and fit the girls in for cuddels in th emorning and no one can breathe!!

Boco, that is an amzing drawing. You are very talented. .

TooTicky · 20/06/2008 21:27

It's fine as long as dd1 doesn't go all diagonal.

Right, we're off. Night

UnderRated · 20/06/2008 21:46

Boco, you really should have more confidence. Your picture is amazing. You are very talented.

5 in a bed is very cosy.

I am off to brave the outdoor pool. Ick. The thermometer on the building up the road said 109'.

FrayedKnot · 20/06/2008 22:04

Evenign everyone

Have just spent 4 hours sorting out DS' toys which have been getting out of control lately

I have a large sack full of crap stuff for the charity collection which they will bin welcome I'm sure

Then logged onto PC and anti-virus software was up the creek and had to fix it.

Think I may give up and go to bed now

2 large salads and some strawberries.

Hope everyone had a good day, will try to catch up properly tomorrow

FrannyandZooey · 20/06/2008 22:32

Oh Lordy poor chap
he'll need soothing

Toot..that sounds lovely

Boco...you are amazingly gifted
ds said 'is your friend the blue kangaroo lady?'

We must find you some fabulous stories to illustrate
You need to team up with someone & produce a wonderful series of books like um julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

Your work absolutely needs recognition & children should no longer be deprived of it
right....

FrannyandZooey · 20/06/2008 22:43

soothing my arse
it'll only encourage him
