Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

here's the first one Avi

Boco · 18/06/2008 21:12

and here is the second one

although I agreed with a lot of the comments, I still feel quite sad for her reading it all, it must feel horrid. Is that wet?

fullmoonfiend · 18/06/2008 21:14

no, I had that sentiment.

for around 10 seconds......

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 21:20

no, I didn't post on there, I thought it was horrible. Even if she is an awful woman I can't help thinking about her reading it. It would really hurt. Maybe I am wet too. Also, once people start on a thread like that, everyone piles in to see who can be the funniest kind of nasty.

Mind you, I cried once when my mum burned the suitcase and clothes of a lodger/friend who had ripped her off, smashed and stolen her fifty pence electricity meter off the wall. I felt sorry for him.

Boco · 18/06/2008 21:21

Oh I am glad you're wet too.

Some days I don't think I have the stomach for mumsnet. Made the mistake of reading the thread about the name Lola, where it's become clear that to name your child Lola makes you a try hard, a hippy prostitute,, and some one at ease labelling your child a tart / whore / stripper.

fullmoonfiend · 18/06/2008 21:29

oh that's ridiculous....

fullmoonfiend · 18/06/2008 21:30

shit, no I meant what a ridiculous notion to slag off a girl's name like that, not that you were being ridiculous for not liking thread...!!

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 21:32

gawd, ds2's name is always scoring top marks on the mnet poncemeter (stress on the middle 'e')

I have stopped opening those threads

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 21:33

I thought it was a rather scornful tone for you, FMV!

fullmoonfiend · 18/06/2008 21:34

One of mine makes middle/clarse favourite list, the other makes chav list!

Boco · 18/06/2008 21:34

well, a lot of the thread was genuinely funny and I kind of agreed with - but just knowing that there was a real person behind it reading some shocking and personal things just made it uncomfortable. It's not like she's outspoken with terrible and nasty views, she's just very rich and posh and privileged. I can be as class-chippy as anyone, but I felt sorry for her.

Exactly, even if you agree with a lot of it, the fact that one person is bearing the brunt of the vitriol for a crime that seems to be privilege, naievety and earnestness, the thread is more ravine than chip.

I just don like it.

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 21:43

excuse my dreadfully written post, I am trying unsuccessfully to do an online shop. I have pages open for tesco, sainsburys and waitrose trying to book a slot, they all keep crashing, and my brow is furrowed and I am cross.

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 21:44

I think you are very kind and I am glad you are moist
