Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I haven;t read the Scheherezade threads but can well imagine.

Things do get really out of hand on here sometimes

I am curling up under the yurt duvet and ignoring it.

I could have made 10 but I ate a cheese biscuit instead.

I am also eating biscuits

Avi - happy birthday to your ds!! I forgot it was today, did he enjoy himself?

TooTicky · 18/06/2008 22:53

Happy birthday to Avilet.

I would hug all you wet people but it is chilly here and the wind is roaring so I will just give you a loving wave

Fmf, I posted about canvas and cake earlier, in case you missed.

There has been lots of screaming here this evening, wondering if the wind has unsettled everybody.
Ds1 has to be a Roman tomorrow. We have known about this for weeks so quite why everything has been squeezed into the last 48 hours I do not know. And he wanted to be a legionary, not a toga-wearer
Will take photo in the morning.

What's up with Sainy's?

Avi hope ds had a lovely birthday

TooT maybe it's the full moon unsettling everyone. Ds has been driving me up the walls today and I have been responding in a very PMT-like way, when I am just about post-menstrual. I don't want to get wound up by the things he does, why do I allow myself to?

Tatties · 18/06/2008 23:35

Oh I didn't realise it was this late. I shall drink my redbush and go to bed I think

TooTicky · 18/06/2008 23:42

Perhaps I'm feeling it more because pmt didn't coincide with full moon this time. So now we have two times of the month to be wary of.
Or perhaps the moon/wind combination is just too much.

OsmosisBanana · 18/06/2008 23:56

V Windy here too TooT.

Not looking forward to camping and festival thing tomorrow @ Croyde.

children Friends we are going with seem to be getting a bit manic. Tis only 4 days. There are shops n stuff in Devonium.

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 01:27

Glad Franny's Iron is not too low.

Congrats Idris

Glad Avi's DS had a good birthday.

Have a good time, OB

I'm doing the posting that Cod hates.

Um, black-eyed peas (lots), onion, banana, raisins. Nothing else though

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 06:53

Farking insomnia

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 07:52

Oooo, was just chatting with Man on msn and he signed off, 'Love ya'

Wtf does that mean?

zippitippitoes · 19/06/2008 08:04

hi UR i am just off for to make breakfast

about insomnia

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 08:09

Morning, zippi

Enjoy your breakfast.

Morning everyone else

FrannyandZooey · 19/06/2008 08:13

Morning UR
some people do put love ya as a general thing, don't they? and give hugs all the time and so on
and others it might mean something a bit more...

greedy portions of strawberries, grapes, apple and raisins

I woke up feeling knackered today, despite being asleep from 10 till 6.30 (excepting few painful rolling over incidents)
this is getting silly

glad ds had lovely birthday Avi! so there was still plenty of lego, it was just that one batch that was dodgy?

morning all. feel bit gritty eyed and snotty. Hmm haven't had a cold since before xmas!

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 08:19

Oh Franny, it's not nice to wake up and feel tired before the day has already started. Hope you can have lots of time to sit down and eat cake relax

Man doesn't say things like that usually. And was odd that he said it then legged it.

UnderRated · 19/06/2008 08:19

Oh no, FMF - drink plenty, won't you?

womblingalong · 19/06/2008 08:21

Hi all,

FMF, sorry you're feeling under the weather.

Poor Franny, not long to go now.

UR, sure it is just v casual (from the man)

Happy birthday for yesterday Avilet.

Tatties, I am finding DD very difficult at the moment, she seems to be so cross and shouty all the time, I am beng as calm as I can, but it is getting me down a bit.

Brekkie: spelt flakes with raisins and pineapple, Strawberries, passion fruit, apple, kiwi and natural yoghurt (4.5)

fullmoonfiend · 19/06/2008 08:22

ah bless you UR, I don't need sympathy (yet!!) I am more marvelling at the fact that I normally get a cold every coupla of months and have been on a healthy roll. See, 10/10 works

I am disproportionately healthy generally, given my crap lifestyle - I am just prone to colds.

FrannyandZooey · 19/06/2008 08:23

it's mine, mine I tell you

OP posts:
UnderRated · 19/06/2008 08:27

Wombling, shouty children are hard to deal with sometimes, aren't they? I try to be all calm and smiley but can only manage it for so long.

I'm all out of sympathy now...

womblingalong · 19/06/2008 08:38

UR it is difficult, I understnad that she is frustrated and cross, but am having difficulty explaining to her that it is ok to be upset, but it is not OK to shout, scream and lash out to express it. I had to just leave the room a few times last night and say please come and talk to me when you have calmed down. Have no idea if it is the right thing to do or not, but there you go. (Big Sigh)
