For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh yes, he has a couple of dolls he likes playing with but they are small ones and hard plastic kind, not very cuddly
this is a big fat squeezy one and I thought it would be nice for him to have his 'own' baby when I have mine
he can drag it around and be mean to it if having a bad day
have bought a dolly sling also so he can be attachment parenting - he is very good at breastfeeding already (has even moved from belly button to nipple )

that sounds very annoying, Avi, this is the thing with ebay isn't it, it can be fab one time and then intensely irritating the next.

FrayedKnot · 17/06/2008 22:05

Hello

TooT hope DS is OK...I do agree with MrsC I think a better thermometer would be good. I may have a little digital one spare if you want it for another time?

Have ignored lemon meringue pie and eaten an apple instead

Think that might be 9

And yoga.

Oh, Avi...

Does anyone know if / where one can get non-teflon'ed school trousers?

I detest the thought of uniform but am gritting teeth about it. All the schools here have them.

LullyOfShallot · 17/06/2008 22:09

franny

ds had a baby until he was 2 7 then lost interest so I put it up in the loft.We were in a beautiful toy shop the other day lookibg at wooden marble runs for his birthday & he asked if he could have a very realistic baby doll & crib instead

LullyOfShallot · 17/06/2008 22:10

27?
that'd be 2

LullyOfShallot · 17/06/2008 22:11

Ah FK Toot might know, she was trying to find some a while back

LullyOfShallot · 17/06/2008 22:12

Hmmmm...I loathe uniforms
I suspect ds will not take lightly to wearing one either
but at least it has no tie

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:13

evening all
uniforms are ok frayed.. one ends up being grateful
mine wore ties at four (state school) but it saves on all sorts of trouble in the morning
go to the second hand uniform sales -- all the best people do that

hope tootlet has gone to sleep peacefully
we had a period where all chidlren at school hd to do temps every day due to a sort of epidemic..really makes you realise firstly, the difference in basal temps and then how it's really the mother's judgement of whether a child is seriously poorly

along with all my f and v i ate a bounty bar today, it was fantastic and i'm not ashamed
have never done ebay but this sounds quite quick for getting money back?

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:14

some great advice fmf, i've always struggled to find the glands

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:16

have just looked at garden pics zippi
they make me feel awfully tired

is the baby doll a new baby present for ds fran
are you feeling fine

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:29
womblingalong · 17/06/2008 22:42

Evening Stuffitt, how is the healthy eating going, I have already slipped up with Chips today, never mind, have ironing to do, and DS would not go to sleep until after 9, pah! Couldn't face cooking too.

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:47

oh can you do my ironing would you mind awfully
it's a rather fine pile
sock sorting too

eating is a lot better than last week -- i think if i do well on the f and v i don't much mind what else i have if there's room for it..

i probably have too much glucose..have blood sugar ups and downs so i should do something about that

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:48

ds is quite wee isn't he? it's so hard in the summer

loved living near the equator where it's sun up at 7 and sun down at 7 and that's it, no faffing around in the garden till 9.30

pinkspottywellies · 17/06/2008 22:54

here you go stuffit - you do the socks and I'll do the ironing

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:54

womble -- missed you
night all x

womblingalong · 17/06/2008 22:55

I know (about the equator thing) when I lived in Africa, it was like someone just turned off the lights in the sky at 7! DS is 14 months, and just feels like he will be missing out on something if he gives in to sleep, no idea what he finds so fascinating. Toninght he was quite funny, he got the giggles when I was feeding him to sleep, and then we were both in hysterics for about 40 minutes. I had no idea what was tickling him so, but it was quite infectious.

stuffitllama · 17/06/2008 22:56

hey pink thank you i notice you took the easy job which you can do while watching tv

x posted and still have to go or there'll be trouble chez nous
well not really but you know

night
x

womblingalong · 17/06/2008 22:59

night stuffitt, will get round to that email, promise.

Mushroom, peppers, lettuce, spinach, banana, raisins (x2), apple 8

zippitippitoes · 18/06/2008 06:46

well deadline for assignment number one today

i have to try and do a drawing i have done the written stuff

i ate mostly fruit and oats yesterday

and coffee

have oats and fruit this am

i wonder what is happening with live chat

i actually pught to be at college when its on

its not going to happen is it

i have faint guilt feelings of having kicked it off

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 07:13

zip there was no way that live chat thing was your fault
(had to retype that 3 times - first came up as 'love chat' - erm, I don't think so - then 'lice chat' )

stuffit yes I do hope he'll think it's a good present. I know he wants to lug the new baby around everywhere and have it in his room at night and feed it and everything, so I thought this was next best thing

no i feel a bit shite really, had to get dp to come home yesterday as couldn't stop crying, one of those days
have been given strict talking to by various MNers to sleep and ask for help so am trying to follow advice
dp off this morning then on my own but hopefully will have pulled self together a bit
results of blood test today to see if am low in iron - mixed feelings as obviously if low in iron it excuses crying etc and can be fixed, BUT may balls up labouring at home

TooT how is ds?

OP posts:
stuffitllama · 18/06/2008 07:47

you poor thing Fran, you sound as though you have been doing Too Much and don't want to cave

it's time to cave i think, you must look after yourself now, you will be the looking after person soon and now you need to be looked after and minded

doll sounds like a great idea, but do you need the nappies as you get a couple of tiny real nappies in your ghastly "bounty bag" and they do as toy nappies

no f & v so far but excuse is.. friend arrived at 8am with baguettes so we had latte and white carbs

still in pjs, she has just taken crowds of children to school and is coming back for more

what's the live chat thing?

stuffitllama · 18/06/2008 07:48

hi zippi
wombling i love that giggling thing, just thinking about it makes me

zippitippitoes · 18/06/2008 07:53

sorry you are feeling exhausted and sad franny

not a lot longer to go

remember that although the birth is importaant wherever it ends up taking place it is the forwever after that really matters

love chat or lice chat i think the former might be preferable

the horridest thing i have sen is those eye lash lice yuk
