Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I think I am going to Nobly Refuse the bounty bag - they just make me cross - weaning stuff given to you about 4 months and full of sugar and crap
also you can wash these terry dolls nappies stuffit - now you must admit that is cute

I am wanting to cave tbh
I am dying to cave
caving is proving difficult as poor ds does need various kinds of things doing for him during the day, despite intensive training to be self sufficient he can feed himself for large parts of the day but not actually do a whole sainsburys shop yet. Maybe next year.

thank you zip
yes I don't really care where the birth is, don't worry
I want it to be my choice though rather than shunted around by medical issues

I know I've only ever popped in in the past to abuse gently tease you about my 14 portions of alfafa sprouts, mung beans and spirulina balls on the WWW 10 year younger plan, but I just had to pop in and say:

Your thread title is genius.

[waves adieu]

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 08:04

Apple, Strawberries, Kiwi, Passion fruit, spelt cereal, raisins & dried pineapple & seeds, natural yoghurt (4.5).

Franny, please try and get some rest, I feel like I haven't slept for 14 months, and DS is 14 months now! Is there any way you can get some help with your DS in the day? I thought you had mentioned a teenager who sometimes helps you out, and a nanny that you sometimes use, or maybe your friends could rally round?

womblingalong · 18/06/2008 09:51

Zippi,

Stern Voice, no Sherazade, back to drawing board with you!

zippitippitoes · 18/06/2008 09:52

I have to go wedding shopping today. Our friends are getting married on Saturday in North Norfolk and I haven't sorted out the outfits. It's fairly informal but I need some things. We will be walking on the marshes later in the day so I expect wellies will be required too.

womblingalong · 18/06/2008 10:02

Oh Franny, I am for you. Wish I was nearer, then I would be happy to help.

DH's favourite games involve him lying down and DD doing 'something' to him, i.e playing doctors or hairdressers, that might be a cunning way of playing with DS while lying down?

Sorry, not got a lot of ideas have I, I will shut up now

Oh Mrs C, I love wedding shopping, what do you need to get for who?

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 10:09

oh I am just a bag of whinge atm
it is partly / mostly mental I think, I just feel pathetic and like I want to give up

anyway TooT have carrot seeds here am going to try to post today
playdough may take slightly longer, sorry

Aw Franny love, you sound exhausted. There are lots of mixed emotions at the end aren't there. I hope you can try to wind down a bit.

Hope TooT and ds are ok.

Avi and FK how are the heads?

Wombling I love the bedtime giggles! That has happened to us several times and it is lovely - and any feelings of annoyance that he won't go to sleep just melt

Guadalupe · 18/06/2008 10:28

every time you feel like giving up, imagine us foating about with virtual cushions and sprays and chocolate. Lie down, and stay there for a long time!

Wombling - I'm not sure, dd could do with a dress, ds1 needs some new trousers, all his are trashed. I have bought a dress recently but it's not very weddingy. I can make do but I might look at the House of Fraser sale, somtimes they have lovely reduced Whistles dresses.

stuffitllama · 18/06/2008 10:29

how old is ds1 gaudy
i have trews

lionheart · 18/06/2008 10:30
stuffitllama · 18/06/2008 10:31

you are not a bag of whinge, you are tired and needing to snuggle round in circles to make a little nest and stay there for a couple of weeks

lol at the sainsbury's shop ..but i'm sure loading the dishwasher can't be beyond him

womblingalong · 18/06/2008 10:32

Franny, you are allowed to be whingy, you are carrying around a baby and a placenta, and the amniotic fluid and everything else, all day, every day, and I bet you can't get comfy anywhere. It really saps your strength, mentally and physically.

Tatties, I know, it is so cute, although I still was a bit annoyed that my evening (of housework) was ruined by him not going to bed until almost 9, pah! He then woke up 4 times in the night, and was up for the day at 5am, and DD had a leaky night nappy, and I had to change beds and PJ's in the middle of the night.

How are you? I am afraid my knitting has fallen by the wayside ATM, I had a big push to finish Franny's vest, and now I am trying to dop housework/gardening and failing miserabley.

Anyway, back to work, see you later.

LullyOfShallot · 18/06/2008 10:33

Awwwww Franny lovely one
Wish I were nearer

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 10:34

ooh yes, a nest of Franny, that is exactly what I need
this is where having one's mother come and be motherly would be useful wouldn't it
(not MY mother, you know, some archetypal Mother)

he would have to find the dishwasher first unfortunately
he does sweep up and tidy quite well
am planning to teach him how to do back rubs

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2008 10:35
