Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ugh UR

you are going through a big mangle aren't you
many vibes to you, he is being a vindictive nob but you know this

well
a nectarine and two meltingly lovely kiwis

made it to eight last night with tomatoes and carrots on top

curses fell asleep on son's bed at nine and woke at 2.30

you did a lot of chatting now i need to read it all

FrannyandZooey · 17/06/2008 08:27

UR
gnash gnash
keep on fighting (but of course you shouldn't have to )

now listen why is every bugger trying to jump in the pit? You are all so contrary. You are meant to be trying to stay OUT of the pit (throws cunting mangoes into the pit. And a poo chart for good measure)

pineapple, pear, raisins, grapes, kiwis = 5 good portions

I am tired, and enormous. And enormously tired. I have lost my oomph.

Avi I reckon a bubble machine if you have / can borrow one. Plus a parachute (I could help with that?)

Boco · 17/06/2008 09:51

UR so sorry you're having such a horrible time - it sounds awful. Your drawings are very good, drawing can be great for relaxing, you should keep on with it as you're clearly very good.

I have had an epiphany about my tiredness. I've been a fool. Ever since dd started school I've been skipping breakfast most days - I KNOW it's silly, but don't feel like eating in a rush, and always in a rush. Last week I made a concerted effort to eat properly and felt completely different, just so much more energy. So, am out of pit, eating blueberries, raspberries and muesli. I know it's a bit of an obvious revelation, but before this I never ever skipped breakfast and didn't realise how marked the difference was - and I just got into the habit.

How boring was that I wonder.

Another painting day, but this time with a dd2 to knock over pots of water and add flourishes for me.

FrannyandZooey · 17/06/2008 10:05

Boco your tiredness epiphany is marvellous
you are an education for us all

I on the other had am salutory lesson for sloths
I appear on posters which the head sloths pass around saying "this is what will happen if you let yourself go and don't eat your greens"

avi I think my glowy lady might be able to help with monthly migraines if you give me full and frank disclosure of all symptoms
will probably cost a bit but might be worth it if it helps?

ok tell me all about the lego
what was wrong with it? dirty? can you link to the auction so I can read it (by email if you like)
what is your feedback like? do you / are you planning to sell anything?

well link me to the auction, unless it is described as dirty and broken then no it isn't ok really, but I would need to see it before saying "yes leave a negative"
what do you want to happen? do you want your money back? or do you want to keep it and complain about it? It's a tricky one if you want to keep it.

If you email me as many details of migraines as you can think of I am seeing glowy lady on Thursday. Alternatively I could give you her number and you could phone and she could give me the stuff.

I am being very officious and bossy aren't I? I think it is because actually DOING anything in RL is beyond me so I am going to just order you all around in cyberspace

womblingalong · 17/06/2008 10:45

Morning all,

Avi - have you thought about opening a dispute with Paypal/Ebay (can't remember which one, will check with DH), this should help you get a refund, without getting or giving negative feedback (DH has used this successfully in the past.)

You're having such a hard time UR with that nob of an ExP. Arsebiscuits. I am so cross and upset for you.

Boco - I am just like that without breakfast too.

Have eaten: Yoghurt & muesli with pineapple and raisins in and nectarine, apple, Kiwi and passion fruit (4.5?)

FrannyandZooey · 17/06/2008 10:52

well I would email again telling him you would like a refund including all postage costs as the goods were not as described

see how he goes from there
giving negative feedback should be the LAST thing you do after all avenues has failed - it closes down the transaction and you would be very unlikely to get a seller to co-operate with you in any way after you have given a negative

don't mention feedback in your emails, either

if he refuses a refund then as wombling says, take it up with Paypal (if you paid that way - did you?)

sorry you are feeling so rotten

TooTicky · 17/06/2008 12:37

Oh UR, that is so awful for you
But your drawings are fab!!!!!
I am gradually coming to the conclusion that I NEED to do creative things. Am now wondering if I could actually make money by doing it. Anyway, it must be done.

Avi, the problem with leaving neg feedback is that the seller will often do it too in a tit for tat kind of way. If you paid by paypal I think you're covered for this kind of thing.

I am arsed arsed arsed off with being skint. Totally and utterly. I was awake until about 3am worrying about money. Still, as long as we have enough for the rent on Thursday we should scrape through another month. Not sure what we're eating though

Does anybody have any spare carrot seeds? Can swap for squash, small pumpkin, runner bean, dwarf bean, sweetcorn, peas, mini cucumber, courgette.....

TooTicky · 17/06/2008 12:38

Sorry, that was very moany Please ignore me.

womblingalong · 17/06/2008 13:16

It wasn't really moany TooT, if you can't worry about paying the rent and eating, then what can you worry about?

Have no seeds, sorry, but do you need anuything for DD2?

TooTicky · 17/06/2008 13:22

Um...well...would happily take any outgrown items off your hands thank you for asking

LullyOfShallot · 17/06/2008 13:41

Oh Toot
Wish I could help

If you catch Filly anywhere, would you ask her if she still needs a brambley hedge book for dd?
I was sorting our bulging bookshelves today & ds has two identical ones. They have all the stories.

kiwi,raspberries,pear
quinoa

roasted veg,chickpeas & rocket & asparagus

TooTicky · 17/06/2008 13:43

Will do Lully. Her email doesn't seem to be working atm.

talilac · 17/06/2008 13:56

Hey TT, I have runner bean and french bean seeds should you want either?

I also have some clothes about to go to charity shop, how old are your dds?

Had a bad evening last night. My otherwise lovely DH refused to eat the dinner I made AGAIN. Because I had cooked his in the same oven I cooked my own fish in, and so it apparently smelled fishy. I sulked, he sulked, it was a very quiet house.

I think I just don't understand how truly very weird he is about food and think he's just being annoying when in fact he is actually Very Fussy in this area.

I am determined to find some meals that he likes, so have started a thread in food about this if anyone feels like helping?

F & V yesterday was a respectable 6 considering the Ikea debacle. Am going for the 10 today, wish me luck..
