Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

And finally, Cantseesowhat was getting personal this week and wanted to know whether many Mumsnet ladies participated in one-in-a-bed sex, "Are you embarrassed to say that you do?" "You know, I wonder about a lot of things," admitted Daftpunk, "but Mumsnetters having one off the wrist isn't one of them." Lovecat recalled the time her mother declared "No-one we know does anything like that!" "I think it's fairly safe to say regards me as some sort of turbo-slut." "Why not buy a rabbit?" pondered Zippitippitoes, but Slingsby fretted, "Who looks after it when you go on holiday?" and Twinkie1 admitted that she is highly allergic to latex, "I don't want to be the first person in the News of the World to go down as being killed by her vibrating bunny." Cupcakes are altogether safer territory.

Bless me veggers for I have sinned

It has been 4 hours since my last vegetable

It would appear that dh's absence from the house has had some kind of effect on the general aura and I have been infused with mannishness in his absence. I therefore had steak and bread & butter for my evening meal. Not a vegetable in sight.

Man, do I ever need a boot camp

[hunts in fridge for melon slices left from yesterday]

FrannyandZooey · 16/06/2008 20:02

You can't make me spend the night in the pit, I spent the day at Ikea! Surely thats far worse and I should be excused penance..

Sympathy re stretchmarks, I didn't get any 1st time until my due date then I got loads in the 2 weeks DD1 was overdue..

They did fade though. Bio oil is pretty good.

Boco has a darling bear suit (see profile)

ds is soooooo happy that we wont be trawling oxfam's for fake fur coats or stapling him into a bin bag creation.

fullmoonfiend · 16/06/2008 20:26

OFGS, I can't keep up! Does everyone love my title? Why did it not have ''I see a little sillouhette of a plum'' first though? {pedant}

Moonie's top tip: if you are ever in Asda and see an intruiging new veg which looks like a green lumpy rat, do not get carried away with vegger excitement and buy one.
It is a Karela and it is absolutely minging.
a) It took me 20 mins to find anybody in the store who knew what it was
b) It took a further 10 mins to find out what one did with it
c) It took 15 mins at the checkout for them to find the code for it
d) I cut it, sliced out seeds, soaked in salt as instructed before cooking, added it to curry and it is bitter and vile.
Apparently they are used to bulk out a curry but next time I will use rat droppings instead.
