Does drinking a bottle of wine every night make you an alcoholic?

I ask because I was having a conversation about drink with a (male) colleague and he says he drinks a bottle a night. I was a bit . He's quite small, shorter than me, so the men can drink more thing doesn't really apply. Do you think he's addicted?

I drink a bottle of wine everynight but only because after a day at work it relaxes me and i can sleep. I could do with out but i do enjoy my wine is thst bad

OK... I never liked wine until 5 year ago n I love red wine now.... I'm 42.. I stopped drinking completely 16 years ago... When pg with daughter nearly 16 now... She was 7 or 8 b4 comfortable having beer in front of her... My dad alcoholic so thoughts struggle.. I have work nights where I have red wine.. But out of principle... I can also not for 3 weeks in a row (day after boxing day last wine n on purpose didn't have any over hogmanay and new year.. Sober January in fact.. It depends whether need it... Or choose it... I prove to self don't "need" every so often
