For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

UnderRated · 03/06/2008 13:53

Morning

ENjoy the flowers, Bero.

Hope DS is ok at preschool, Avi

Hope that your thinking has helped Zippi. I'm a bit worried about various things. And you have been helpful.

Nothing to report. Am fretting somewhat - Dad here this aft. He's lovely but we will fall out at some point and then he will leave and I will feel guilty for being useless and horrible and will miss him and feel homesick. It's always the same.

Anyway, off to buy lots of F&V

Have only had a banana today with a really unpleasant wrap from a bakery which had so much mango chutney in it completely obliterated the so-called morrocan style veg...bleurgh.

Mexican chciken for supper with a huge avacado salad, mixed beans, tomato salsa etc.

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 17:26

Yes saw the dr and Evie got all clear but I have v painful ovarian cyst. Bleurgh. Hate the word cyst. Have codeine and it's helping.

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 18:46

oh a cyst? Did you mention this before? How do you get cysts and what happens with them?

I was meaning about your chest and stuff. How is that?

MrsC I feel absolutely knackered. I am convinced it is all that white bread and chocolate cake
I am shagged and craving sugar like mad

Boco · 03/06/2008 18:50

Dunno dunno. I had a really sharp pain a couple of weeks ago that went on for a while - all a long story that is a bit grim and farcical - but then was going to Poland so didn't get it checked but it kept hurting all week and still niggling away so went to see dr - will have utrasound in a couple of weeks if not gone. Hopefully will just go. Still deaf in one ear and bad chest, just generally feel like Dot Cotton harping on about my ailments. Tomorrow I'm having some child free time at last and plan to sleep and catch up with myself and then will be fine.

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 18:52

aww Boco flipping heck

does the ultrasound zap it or would it be to see what it is?

OP posts:
Boco · 03/06/2008 18:54

No, just to look at it.
Might not come to that, hopefully. Willing it to vanish. Codeine made it feel fine now.

FrayedKnot · 03/06/2008 18:56

Hello

Boco that sounds nasty and painful Is Dr expecting it to settle down or what?

Hope MrsC & Franny had a good day

Avi what is a harict ban?

I am in and out to yoga and very tired but this yoga class tends to be mostly lying down so I can face it, just.

DS has been the kind of PITA today that a 4 yr old can only be when they have spent a weekend being indulged and now it;s back to reality.

Doubt we will make the meet up although I would love to...we are away end July / early Aug

S1ur · 03/06/2008 19:06

Hello.

I thought I'd check in with you all, I've been a bit absent of late.

I'm trying to scan and see how everyone is but my head is starting to spin!

I have just bought tons of grapes and bananas and have been eating large platefuls of rocket and spinach - not one item of which was home-grown. But on the plus side my tomatoes are looking very bushy and optimistic.

aPlum · 03/06/2008 19:08

Franny - I feel exactly the same, bloated and tired and full of sugar. I will have an enormous dinner and a glass of wine and then I will feel better.

I had a lovely day and so did DD, it was utterly relaxing and so nice to get away for a bit after cabin fever. Franny's house is cosy and light and I could have stayed on the sofa for ages but alas we had to catch the train.

She made me feel fluffies or whatever the new baby nappies are called.

Boco - I wish you could have come too. I half expected you to join the train at Diss as a surprise. Even after we pulled away I thought, she might nip through the door and say Ta Da. I had a cyst before, they are horrible. I had the full surgery for an ectopic pregnancy with ds1 and it turned out to be a twisted cyst. He was too small for them to see on the screen despite thousands of doctors scanning so they operated. Amazing he survived it really.
