For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 14:08

I really want some chocolate or sweets or something bad. But I have already had some crisps today and I shall be drinking later too. Can't have everything. Tell me I can't have sweets.

alarkaspree · 05/06/2008 14:11

Hello everyone. I'm sorry, I joined the f&v club and then went to New York for a week with almost no internet access. I ate salads though, and went running. Since I got back dh had been monopolising the computer for his mortgate spreadsheet.

So I hope everyone is well.

I should be becoming an aunt any time now. I'm feeling very nervous and excited.

Tootshoot is very good

Happy Birthday mini Boco!

DD has her school report. It is all very good and positive but in the things to work on area it said, 'DD is sometimes able to drift off to a beautiful place where finishing writing in a reasonable amount of time is no longer a priority. She can be a dreamer.

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 16:09

You need to put that report Somewhere Safe to be dragged out at all important family events. wedding speech, 21 st birthday etc etcv

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 17:20

GUTTER NEWS

it all needs redoing
the fascia boards are rotten and it isn't cost effective to replace just one or two apparently

END OF GUTTER NEWSFLASH

MrsC I love the report. It's quite poetic and they obviously have a great deal of affection for her.

Baked potatoes filled with butter cheese and sweetcorn are in oven
and a big salad with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber and chickpeas
if only cheese and potatoes counted towards 10 I would be laughing

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 17:21

Guadalupe · 05/06/2008 17:39

OB - I will, I will drag it out for years to come.

Her teacher is lovely and she is very fond of DD. One other sentence was, 'Sometimes what DD sees as a useful piece of advice or suggestion is seen by others as bossiness, but this energetic and pro-active side of her has been challenged to her benefit several times in the year and is at a perfectly reasonable level.'

Sorry, but I think that is hilarious, how do they write something like 'she is bossy', like that? It is very cunning. I like her teacher. She also sent me flowers after my op.

Anyway, enough of my daughter's report, how are all veggers.

Still having gutter problems, Franny, that is annoying.

I went out for lunch today and had the fattest camembert goats cheese, gruyuere and roasted tomato tart in the world. Three inches high or so, ate with masses of salad and white wine looking out over a friends leafy garden. Was very relaxing.
