For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LOL @ TooTshoot
can it have another capital on the end please, viz: TooTshooT
or it looks wrong

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 13:00

Aha! Frome! My BF is from Frome. As are all her 8 siblings. Strangely enough.

Do you know the Nixons?

TooTshoot · 05/06/2008 13:01

Devizes. I don't use it much tbh because it's not organic and probably air freighted. I do top up sometimes though, to keep things interesting. I don't want the dcs to get bored with the idea of fruit due to only eating seasonally. I think a little help at lean times of year is okay.

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 05/06/2008 13:02

Pink! Rocket is whooshing its way to you as we speak! Please excuse lack of note/card etc in envelope as I was in a hurry to not forget to post it.

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 13:02

Sorry that is shit asking about knowing peeple in places. People always used to say to me when we lived in Zambia 'Oh you live in Africa? Do you know my friend xxx, she lives in Kenya?'

Uh... No.

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 13:03

am eating peanut butter and banana sandwich
is nice

we have lettuces too! they are approx 3 mm high. A fine start I think. We all took a turn round the garden earlier like MrsC. With me saying "something's coming up there, what was that again?" and dp saying "I can't remember."

We have a magical mystery garden

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 05/06/2008 13:06

my entire allotment is like that franny. I mean to put little helpful labels on stuff but I am always in ahurry so I think: ''I'll deffo remember those are carrots and those are bans etc'' but I never do. I can usually tell when the leaves come though, what it is....

littlerach · 05/06/2008 13:06

Frome not organic either.
They do huugggee crates of fruit for a couple of pounds.

OB, nope don'tknoe thw Dixons

But will look out for them on Saturday!

TooTshooT · 05/06/2008 13:06

[obedient]

Oh ffs the blue dinosaur is active again.

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 13:08

oh TooT
tell your dinosaur we are only half way through
you just don't like my title do you

TigerFeet · 05/06/2008 13:09

My colcannon is gall bladder friendly colcannon made of mashed spuds, leeks and savoy cabbage with a dash of black pepper. It is, of course, really lovely if you add some cream and butter.

You can chuck in shredded bacon too if you are that way inclined.

I love that link - haven't had a proper potato cake in ages. Wonder if they'll fry well in a teeny tiny bit of olive oil?

TBH I do worry about air freighting all the fruit I eat. I tend to avoid easily avoidable stuff like apples from South Africa and sprouts from Australia (wtf???) but I still buy Chilean blueberries [hypocrite]

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 05/06/2008 13:10

lol, anybody else got a cheesestring advert on their 10/10 page?

TigerFeet · 05/06/2008 13:11

Blue dinosaur? [looks blank]

TigerFeet · 05/06/2008 13:12

no but I do have a very unenvironmental "fly on your holidays on a plane" advert

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 13:12

NO WAY @ cheestrings LOL

ds had his first one the other day at a friend's house for lunch
actually he had two as he really liked them and she gave him another

Guadalupe as I probably told you I got mine on eBay but it was the sheerest fluke
if you ring for their brochure you'll see you can get them unvarnished and plain coloured and save a bit of money that way

TooTshooT · 05/06/2008 13:12

No cheesestrings here, they wouldn't dare.

Franny, you discuss it with him. He may be small but he's determined.

FrannyandZucchini · 05/06/2008 13:13

I've got TCP on mine
as if they think we have GERMS or somthing

TooTshooT · 05/06/2008 13:15

Ds1 tried a cheesestring and didn't finish it. Said it tasted like rubber [proud]
He gave it to ds2 who loved it and mentions them wistfully from time to time

I have a blue dinosaur which walks on the screen when things are slow. When they are very slow there is a yellow dinosaur with a bow in its hair.

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 05/06/2008 13:15

Ah TCP - good for mice wee, so I'm told

Agggh, they are messing with my mind now. NOW I have Alidi ethical clothing ad....I didn't minmagine the ceesetrings, I really didn't.

TooTshooT · 05/06/2008 13:17

I have easycar.com and bank of scotland. Why do we have different ones?
Do they tap into our like/interests/regularly used words and select accordingly?

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 13:19

I don't have any adverts. Is it beacuse they can't tap into my mind? [worried about lack of mind tap]

TooTshooT · 05/06/2008 13:19

Now I have nationwide, hillary's blinds and a plague of dinosaurs. And a ds1 desperately waiuting for computer

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 05/06/2008 13:19

But I don't like cheestrings..and they are not a hobby of mine

Have La redoute now. I'm a little scared of technology...why/how do they change ads everytime I post a new message and why are mine different...

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 13:26

i can imagine us all stood looking at our monitors doing that worried, hand wringing, foot to foot jiggle that Homer Simpson does waiting for the adverts to change.

ALovelyPear · 05/06/2008 13:29

You have all talked a lot since this morning. I have a Kinderhotels ad, which is there frequently. I have still not been out but I am going NOW
