For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Avi and Franny - what was the name of that wooden play cube thing, please? I've been thinking about that for ds2.

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 09:43

Still feeling full of love today but will hold back from putting xxxxxxxxxx at the end of posts today as I have a tinge of rage too.

Everyone has one truly shit friend right? One who can be relied on...... relied on to blow you off at the last minute time and time again.

She strikes again.

Spent many hours last night dreaming up and preparing thai feast from foods she cannot criticise (gluten blah blah, ethically sourced blah blah) and spent vast sums of money in deluxe asian supermarket (I want to live there, it is clean and peaceful).

Then I spent the eveving checking my phone every 10 mins waiting for the inevitable 'sorry babe'.

There it was this morning. Stupid stupid stupid.

Sorry you couldn't get me Womb, i can't do CAT as have no debit card thingy and have been lying low a bit.

I think we should campaign for TooT to be TooTshoot.

How on earth did that 'back alley' thing go unpunished?!?!?! Weaklings.

OJ. That's all. And diet coke. B/Fast of champions / champignons.

I quite like being a Raspberry. I would like to eat raspberries but they are too expensive. At least the ones I have seen are.

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 11:16

I know! £2 bloody 50 for a small punnet of rasps in Sainsbo's.

anotherRaspberry · 05/06/2008 11:17

Exactly

We have a farm shop local to us which sells everything for a hideously extortionate price apart from exotic fruit

Mango 65p
Large punnets of strawbs/rasps/blueberries either £1 or £1.50

Looking forward to strawberry picking, there are loads of places around here that do it, hurrah

Guadalupe · 05/06/2008 11:43

Thanks, Pomegranate. Is it possible to get one secondhand ever? I don't suppose they turn up on e-bay much. Will go and have a look.

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 11:49

Ooh, I like that playbox.

Franny, I am now so mature that alternative meanings didn't occur to me.

There was a woman tasting olives at a market stall this morning In Front of Me, and the bus was due and we nearly ran out of time and I so nearly said, "Look, I'm sure they are all equally grim. Now please either buy some or go away." But I didn't.

I am eating pitta bread with hummous, lettuce from the garden and roasted pepper.

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 11:50

We have small green raspberries in the garden, also loganberries. And teeny tiny apples and plums

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 12:02

Has anybody read Riding Tycho and Voyager by Jan Mark? They are so wonderful and I am gutted that there isn't a third in the series and that Jan Mark has died so I shall NEVER KNOW what would have happened next!

TigerFeet · 05/06/2008 12:03

banana, grapes

colcannon, steamed veg and gammon for lunch (leftover from last night)

god knows what for tea

Oh goodness who is everybody? Who is the mushroom person please? Everyone is familiar but just different.

Is dd1s 6th birthday today. After the disaster of the guinea pigs we were due to get dying or being nearly dead - we had to rush around and find replacements last night. Went to proper rural scary small holding with sullen teens who bred things in sheds and got two baby boys. Made dd2 PROMISE not to say anything or mention guinea pigs at ALL as it was a surprise. She spent evening muttering 'do not say mouses, do not say mouses!' and luckily dd1 largely ignored it. This morning she woke up and yelled 'CAN I SAY GUINEA PIGS NOW!'. Still surprise not ruined as dd1 just assumed she was being odd.

Anyway was a huge surprise and the best day of her whole wide life apparently. And they're very sweet, but mostly terrified. dd has named them Wilf and Morris (the Wilf was my idea to make up for Franny's utter refusal to name new baby Wilf)

Am going to the woods now bye.

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 12:36

at "do not say mouses"

Glad it was a success. The place with the sullen teens and sheds does sound rather sinister though.

Colcannon? What is colcannon? Sounds as if it should be in a folk song.

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 12:38

champignon is FK.

Have come to conclusion that apomegranate is Avi.

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 12:43

Goddamn cocksucking cunting wanky fucksticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the old work woes again...

Looks like I'm going to have to resign to get to move across to the job I want to do. Didn't really want to but hey ho.

Guess I won't be getting a leaving pressie now eh?

Am eating nice pret salad of avocado, onion, sd toms, olives, lettuce and other odds n sods.

Our poor allotment is totallt overgrown. It hadn't been used for many years and was a weed fest so now all of DH's TLC has been in vain as we haven't been able to get down there for a month week or so and everything has gone nuts. You can't see anything we planted.

Except the lettuces. Lots of lettuces. Which I thought would be ravaged by wabbits or summat.

Ate a whole butterhead lettuce with dijon mustard and olive oil dressing only and it was bloody lovely. It's not a meal I could offer DH due to sad lack of meat items but I enjoyed it.

I remember getting guinea pigs for my 6th birthday. They were called Tippy and Toppy. It was when we were living in Pakistan - they breed em very small over there, they never got bigger than the size of 2 satsumas squashed together. I was distraught when we had to give them to our school cos we were leaving. I don't think they lasted very long. A story of great joy n'est pas?

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 12:45

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 12:46

OB, you do have a way with words

Sorry work is being a pain.

Yes, you really have to keep on top of veg gardening at this time of year, things just take over and become jungles.

FruiTicky · 05/06/2008 12:47

OsmosisBanana · 05/06/2008 12:48
