For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I like the machines
they're quite fun

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:57

no, it does not thank heavens, that woould be too far.

no machines at my library toot, I speak to a person, then they take my money. I could of course take them back on time.

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:59

waHOO our local PYO farm has just emailed and the first strawberries, gooseberries and broad beans are ready

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 19:00

bah
I will be able to EAT THEM though

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 19:00

yum, I fancy fruit picking too, when the weather's better.

Right, children summon.

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 19:02

No machines at your library?
Franny, machines are not fun. They are fiddly and annoying and it is a pain in the arse juggling up to 6 tickets and sets of books with people tutting behind you. Much easier dealing with people and desks.

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 19:02

big fat housefly whizzing past me loudly againandagainandagainandagainandagain
ugh

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 19:03

they are a little bit fun TooT
I like pressing the screen and when you post the books in through the letterbox thing they go kerwhooosh BOMP

anotherRaspberry · 04/06/2008 19:43

We don't have machines at our library.

I always have fines. It doesn't help that we are on the border of two counties and so have twice as many tickets. There's some website that links up with some libraries so it will email you when your books are due and you can renew them. Obviously not the two we are members of.

It may be something like libraryelf. I will look.

Has anyone guessed who I am yet? I quite like being incognito.

anotherRaspberry · 04/06/2008 19:44

It is library elf.

How do I remember that and not remember to renew the books in the first place?

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 20:07

Raspberry person, please tell me who you are. I can't cope with all this incognito business.
Am off upstairs to see mad children but will hope to be demystified on my return.

anotherRaspberry · 04/06/2008 20:08

well our library is fab and they had these two librarians (one male one female) doing a double act of singing songs and telling stories
it was mesmerising
they were doing round and round the garden and at the end they actually tickled one another and fell about laughing
they couldn't have fancied each other - don't ask, they just couldn't - so it wasn't that
they were great

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 21:01

LOL @ 'round by yer'

OB you could be OsmosisABanana
then you would fit in

Tatties · 04/06/2008 21:02

I am going to have to go to the library tomorrow

OsmosisBanana · 04/06/2008 21:09

I tried to change it to IsBanana but it obv didn't work / couldn't be arsed.

Everyone seems a little cheerier / less poorly today or is that me being lazy and not reading the whole lot again?

OsmosisBanana · 04/06/2008 21:11

Areyou mocking my regional dialectical Fran?

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 21:12
