For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We have no savings left to just go and buy another van, as DH was out for work for 4 months this year, so savings all gone.

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 18:31

Oh really FK? I got the impression they were more accessible than that.
Sorry you're feeling limp and mouldy.

zippitippitoes · 04/06/2008 18:31

and i have been at college but got involved in a diet thread

i didnt post my lunch on that tho as i was smugly saying how to lose weight

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:31

ZIP - I changed mine to aPlum in all seriousness and they conspired against me to ridicule this with mass fruity name changes so I am forced to revert to carrot. I expect Franny was behind it.

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 18:31

aLychee is Lully

FrayedKnot · 04/06/2008 18:33

Oh

RIP FMF's Van

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:34

is she?

I had no idea who was who, you big mass of fruits.

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:39

everyone is being very slightly out of character once they have name changed

IMO

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:42

is that why?

I can't work them out, apart from fruiticky. I am staying clumpy today.

Did you go to the library? I haven't been for ages and no doubt we have fines again. i always mean to renew them online.

gooseberryfoolmoonfiend · 04/06/2008 18:46

oh come on, I'm hardly in major disguise!! (Adjusts free papier mache bodysuit)

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:47

I suppose I ought to put them all to bed. I can't really be bothered to move, there seems to be spaghetti in the way of any route out of this room.

I think I have PMT actually, yes, just checked the calendar and I do. I better make sure I always write it down or I will get in a right muddle and never have an excuse for mardiness.

Where is the wine?

zippitippitoes · 04/06/2008 18:49

i thought it muight be lully but didnt quite sound like her
and yes i expect franny was behind it mrs c

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:49

we went yes
I don't usually get fines because you don't get them on a child ticket and I have a home ed ticket for me which is also fine free
I used to have the most horrific fine issues and had to abandon several library tickets I am ashamed to say

so if this is not too in depth a question, do you still have a hormonal cycle but you won't actually menstruate, or have I got that completely wrong?

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:49

oh, yes, I did get you too.

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 18:50

Well, at least spaghetti is easier to pick up than bulghur wheat

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:50

none of it was organised
I was aMelon or whatever and then they all started doing it
s'not my fault

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 18:50

We get fines on child tickets.

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:51

we get them on all of our child tickets

yes, I have a hormonal cycle but no period so I get the PMT and then presumably it just lifts? I don't know yet. Having it is a good sign, means the ovaries are still working as normal I believe.

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:52

that's bad TooT
it would put me off using the library actually
I would happily pay for the service ona monthly subscription or something, I don't begrudge giving them money, but fines are just too scary and they get out of hand

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:52

have you been taking your essence of goat? it is very balancing you know

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:53

spaghetti is annoying to pick up off the floor, it would be a nightmare on the sofa. So sticky.

Guadalupe · 04/06/2008 18:55

I have NOT been taking my essence of goat, I forgot about it, i will have some right now. I've been spraying vervain everywhere.

I have to pay a small fortune in fines, especially if a dvd is involved, sometimes as much as ten pounds.

FruiTicky · 04/06/2008 18:55

Dd1 currently has £2.60something fines outstanding. She has lost her ticket so I couldn't renew and didn't know what was there.
OH she has just found it. Good.

Do your libraries have annoying machines? Do they make you use them?

FrannyandZucchini · 04/06/2008 18:56

does it taste of goat?
I hope not

ooh gosh I have got my lovely spray you gave me
I must go and squirt
