For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

aPlum · 03/06/2008 20:24

MrsCarrot feels like slipping off her apron and metamorphically peeling into an unctious fruit.

aPlum · 03/06/2008 20:25

I have not eaten ny veg yet. My stomach is not pleased with me but I don't care. I enjoyed my lunch.

Were you all the fruits, then?

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2008 20:58

Hello!

Today was Not Good. I had 2 hours without dd which I spent clearing out the garage which was productive I suppose but then I went to work but the person I was meeting didn't turn up so I went shopping which was productive I suppose, then on the way to pick up dd I had a very LOUD scary puncture and had to try and change the wheel in the rain and the mud (until dh's uncle came to help) and the spare was flat too but got it sorted) then I was late getting home and had to go back to work, still covered in mud and with wet hair.

I have eaten rubbish for lunch, a satsuma at breakfast and veggy lentil dahl for dinner. Need to go f&v shopping tomorrow!

Now I'm going to do ironing.

TigerFeet · 03/06/2008 21:03

SOunds rubbish Pink

It hasn't stopped raining here since teatime yesterday

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 21:03

pink
you can't finish a day like that with ironing, surely
don't you need a hot bath and a stiff drink cup of tea?

MrsC I might have been two of them.

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2008 21:04

I wish I had lovely fluffles or some such lovely sounding nappies. DD has terries. [boring]

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2008 21:06

I had a cup of tea when I picked dd up. (I never drink tea cause I have sugar in it!) and 2 chocolate chunk cookies

aPlum · 03/06/2008 21:06

ds2 has nature boy

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 21:07

we've got nature boy this time for our stash of disposeys, MrsC
we found moltex leaked on little ones - did you ever get any rash from nature boy? a few posters recently said they had a problem with them

OP posts:
aPlum · 03/06/2008 21:09

no rash ever here, once during bad teething

moltex left peanut poos all over the bed

pavlovthecat · 03/06/2008 21:11

I always love your titles - i makes me think of eating fruit and veg when I forget.

I pop in rarely, v v v rarely.

Today - onions, pepper x red, pepper x green, tomato, banana, not very much. No exercise. a start at least!

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2008 21:13

pavlov good start

berolina · 03/06/2008 21:13

oh pink! what a grim day.

Glad the stitches are gone, TooT.

I'm off for a bit. I have realised I have too much RL worky/thinky/futurey stuff to do (when I come back it will probably be with News of Developments), and I really can't justify the time I spend on here. Plus some things about MN and my feelings about it are making me a little atm. At which point I will stress that is is nothing to do with 10/10. You are a haven. But sadly a haven that is diverting me from other stuff atm so which I need to avoid for a while.

I will still be reading my emails. Avidly.

Do it well. (This is for some reason a favourite goodbye salutation in Germany - in German, of course. It really does not translate).

Apple, peach, rocket, various herbs.

TigerFeet · 03/06/2008 21:18

Bero

Hope you get sorted, get to where you want to be, and come back soon when you are ready to.

berolina · 03/06/2008 21:20

Thank you, TigerFeet Don't worry, it is nothing sad (well, apart from the dh-related bits of it hinted at on this and other threads, but I think the corner may be turned there). Some of it actually has the potential to be really quite exciting. The MN thing I just need to think through for myself.

TigerFeet · 03/06/2008 21:22

It does have a tendancy to take over your life, doesn't it? And it seems to get ever weirder.

Glad to hear that it's positive stuff.

OsmosisBanana · 03/06/2008 21:30

Just skulking in to check up on you all. Have eaten a large quantity of Sunday's roast lamb which I now suspect to be rather off so am skulking off again.

Hope all is ok with everyone.

Just a rather 'amusing' side effect of last weekend... I now have thrush for the very first fucking time in my life. Cheers mate.

TigerFeet · 03/06/2008 21:34

Hi Osmosis

Hope you're feeling better, mouldy fanjo aside.
