For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh god yes good point
TooT do you shave your armpits?
if you don't we can't help
everyone I know who doesn't shave their armpits smells of sweat, sorry
there's worse things in the world obviously, but if you don't want to smell of sweat I suggest shaving

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 27/05/2008 18:15

yes, hair equals wild wolvine smell, generally.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 18:23

well I mean that is what armpits are designed for
it is their whole raison d'etre to trap smells so we shouldn't be surprised when they actually do their job
I am very lax about any other hair removal

Have just looked at timetable for local leisure centre. Something on there called Cardiac rehab
May need that after the belly dancing. Pole-da-cise is an obvious no no then.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 18:30

yes sorry
I mean obviously make your own mind up but you will have to lie and pretend you are doing something else other than wrapping yourself round a large shiny pole while wearing high heels and hot pants
there is allegedly a lot of fibbing on this thread already so don't feel bad

Yes I do shave them. And wash copiously. And have tried many deodorants
Will investigate salt.
A friend once told me that she used dilute lemongrass oil - diluted with base oil - and that it was v. good. So, being in a hurry one morning, I put some lemongrass oil in my hand, added a little water and slapped it on. My god did it sting!!

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 18:39

oh god there is a weleda one made basically from lemon juice
I shaved my armpits once and put some on - oooooouch

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 18:40

have you tried Bionsen? it works as well as a standard deodorant IMO

FrayedKnot · 27/05/2008 18:47

Just wondering, TooT, you do you feel you sweat excessively, and then it smells, or do you sweat a little, but it is very smelly?

I suppose I think these are different problems and should be addressed differently, perhaps.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 19:05

I have made this most fantastic salad and am waiting in a slightly desperate fashion for dp to come down so that we can eat ut

ds already had his and he cleared his plate and wanted more

bless him can I have a bit of a brag and say how happy it makes me when he devours a plate of veg with great enjoyment
he really loves it
I know it is not my achievement but I do feel ruddy proud of this

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 19:08

No, no. It IS your achievement I think. Definitely so. You should congratulate yourself. Truly. He eats well and healthily because you do, and he's picked that up from you. Agree too, v. nice to see them devouring a plate of good stuff.

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 19:28

I can't believe you are going to have a baby Franny. It is very exciting.

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 19:30

[dreamy]

UnderRated · 27/05/2008 19:35

I'm back. Nothing happened so I am in limbo for another 2 weeks or so, waiting for the inevitable. I am not good at waiting.I imagine this is what it feels like to be on death row. Except that I have not commited a heinous offence. Oh well, two more weeks with DS. Silver linings & all that... [weak smile]

Happy Birthday, Pink.

I do not believe that veggers can be poo-phobic (there must be a real word for that)

I don't know about deoderants. I use one that is probably quite bad for me.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 19:37

I would like to think you are right 100 but I have known plenty of families where one child is X, all very admirable and marvellous, and one child is Y, bit awkward and oh dear (about a certain thing eg food for instance, I don't mean generally)
so I will not get too complacent about it

yes it is exciting isn't it?
how the dickens am I going to manage? I am OLD and TIRED and I am going to have this baby, LOL

OP posts:
UnderRated · 27/05/2008 19:37

Coprophobia. That's it. I knew there was a real word.

FrannyandZooey · 27/05/2008 19:37

ah god UR
cross posts
ah god that is terrible
so they are still deliberating? or what?

OP posts:
UnderRated · 27/05/2008 19:39

I don't really know what we are waiting for. To see another immigration lawyer. Who will say the same thing the other 3 have .

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 19:46

Oh but what do they say? Can you answer questions? I don't know why I'm asking you so many. I want to fix this - rather madly and egomaniacally.

Does ex have custody of ds? Or shared custody?

Oh UR. This is impossible.

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 19:48

And I am poo phobic, so you can't talk about it any more.

berolina · 27/05/2008 19:48

UR

UnderRated · 27/05/2008 19:51

Neither of us have custody. I want shared. Ex wants sole. And for me to live in the UK. I probably shouldn't be saying all this on here. Sorry I can't be more specific. It is impossible and

UnderRated · 27/05/2008 19:53

Hand squeezes are nice, thank you

You have much to be proud of, Bero. at your 'friend'

berolina · 27/05/2008 19:53

How can he dictate where you live? Or is the visa 'his', so to speak, and he can 'decide' to withdraw it? sorry for questions. How can he imagine this is in his son's best interests? I'm like 100x. I want to solve this for you and feel so impotent.

MrsCarrot · 27/05/2008 19:54

there's nothing wrong with that, Franny, I sighed happily when ds2 ate an enormous bowl of barley and vegetable soup yesterday.

Pink - is it your birthday? Have you had a lovely day and what have you done?

UR - why do they think it is acceptable to separate a child from it's mother, what argument is there for paternal custody?
