For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

UR just came by to see what's happening with you
you sound such an upright person while there is so much hostility and unfairness coming your way
he must be nuts to think this is in the best interest of his child, along with the cruelty to you
is the FO any good .. did you try this first of all
never wished i was an immigration lawyer before but I do now
xxxx to you and hoping and praying something will turn things around in the next two weeks

UnderRated · 28/05/2008 01:00

Thank you all. It's awful. But we'll get through The consulate make a big point of saying they can't help with immigration issues so that's no good. Oh well. I need to bury my head in the sand and enjoy DS without panicking and feeling anxious so no talk of this tomorrow, ok? Not that I'm not grateful but since there's nothing I can do for now, I can't keep dwelling on it.

No more F&V. It seems that Goji berries give DS slight diarrhoea and orange poo

stuffitllama · 28/05/2008 06:18

yes can bury head in orange poo if that's what you need
not quite as much use as being a lawyer dammit

have fallen off f and v wagon after a week of all-embracing vegicity and just managing a few carrots and bits of fruit a day, maybe a banana and strawbs

hence lurking at back of class like child with no homework

can I send vibes to all, Toot everything sounds so much better! you and Franny have been on top funny form and I considered buying poo chart stationery at one point

UnderRated · 28/05/2008 06:24

twould be so much better if I could bury other people's heads in orange poo

Morning chaps

right if we can't mention the Unspeakable C I had better start as I mean to go on:
TooT:
Colour: 8
Consistency: 4
Duration: 3
Intensity: 4

(you HAVE still got the key with all the explanatory notes on, haven't you?)

do you know there is a site called ratemypoo? Allegedly. I daren't look.

Raisins, grapes, strawberries, pear, peach. 5 Halo

Idris, the size 10s are navy blue Asters with a velcro fastening, pretty faded looking but not at all worn out from what I can see. Let me know where to send if you would like them. They might do just for scuffing around at the beach if nothing else - and you can bung in washing machine

Ds going to music group again with my friend this morning but I have my friend's dd (3) in return. To avoid actually having to get down on the floor and do playing I have invited another friend and her 3 year old round. I hope this is a cunning plan.

SauerKraut · 28/05/2008 08:17

Is that poo talk, Franny?! If so, I'd like the key, please.
Plan should work a treat- at least, it worked for me yesterday with 6-year olds. Apart from the bit where I caught them outside under the slide with only pants on

berolina · 28/05/2008 08:19

Good morning

er... apple, banana, with rolled oats

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2008 08:22

no it was MY OWN poo bero
I don't rate other people's poo, that would be WEIRD

SK being under the slide with only pants on sounds fun to me

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2008 08:26

I wasn't measuring the ethics or enjoyability of the poo bero
[stern]
I am not a total oddball

OP posts:
berolina · 28/05/2008 08:27

LOL at ethical poo

berolina · 28/05/2008 08:28

(PS Franny dresses + a surprise are on way)

SauerKraut · 28/05/2008 08:30

It was for them, especially as it was the communal slide for the little estate we live on and not in our garden- I spent the rest of the afternoon avoiding the Looks of our prim and proper neighbours!

berolina · 28/05/2008 08:33

Hello sauerKraut! Great name Are you in Switzerland, or did I imagine that?

lazarou · 28/05/2008 09:24

Hi Aviatrix. It's for the Life Sciences degree. I was going to do health studies but I kept changing my mind.
Well, as for a career change. My job before I became a sahm was working in a lab testing desserts, dips and cottage cheese. Before that I was a beauty therapist. Before that I worked for a publishing company.
My main motivation for doing the course is that I went to a job interview and had to do a maths test. I failed miserably, it was rather embarrassing. I never enjoyed Maths and science at school, but now I 'get it' and I enjoy it.
How about you?

MrsCarrot · 28/05/2008 09:28

UR

Right, I am sorry, but while I can laugh and joke and be as crude about nipples as the next person, I am afraid I must object to poo rating first thing in the morning.

Do you know, I am eating, mango and strawberries with passionfruit, bananas and apple with yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup, it is absolutely delicious. I am slightly put pff by facing the consistency of a fellow poster's post fruit poo.

And as for the chart, that is even worse! That means you know exactly what the numbers mean. No no no no.

I do not make the rules, so let me know if this is to be a regular (arf) morning poo-in, and I will make sure I always appear after lunch.

oh the shame, nothing but refined carbs
haven't even managed avi's six raisins
it's back to emergency raw carrots
I don't mind poo talk, am hoping it will be like waterfalls and wee and encourage vicarious activity

SauerKraut · 28/05/2008 10:29

Hello Berolina- I am indeed, and couldn't get on with Swiss German at the beginning, hence my name! You're in Germany aren't you?

womblingalong · 28/05/2008 10:38

Morning all,

I am afraid that this poo talk is a bit too much for me too, unfortunately, esp before/while I am eating. I may need to join avi and mrs.

Unfortunately have only managed 2 bites of an apple and a glass of OJ this am.

lullabyloo · 28/05/2008 10:44

Belated Happy Birthdays to Pink

UR
I cannot come to terms with the position you are in
(((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))

Franny....gaaaaaaah to the mouse poo
I feel your pain
I have not even ventured into the loft to examine all my treasures/books/clothes/ds's baby things, french crib etc

there will probably be much crying & wailing when I do

Ds & I survived our first stint to London
Lovely to see my father after so long who is larger than ever & bearded which took some getting used to.Was also wearing a hideously bling watch & behaved like an overexcitable child for two days.
His new squeeze was umm...rather like I was expecting her to be but worse & scarily like my Mother in many ways. She also kept correcting ds constantly & telling him off which made me fume & want to poke her in the eye.
Her accent was also mildly irritating

Hotel was small, hot & basic...but modern & v clean.Having ds in such a confined space was hell tho & feeding him was difficult. He fell out of bed 3 times in the night too.
We went to see my father's half brother & his wife yesterday.Long story but he only came to light 6 years ago.
I have to say he is one of the loveliest people I have ever met, really quite special & the absolute image of my grandfather...quite spooky.
Got back at 8.30 last night..literally fell in the door exhausted.Dh had been home for 3 days but the breakfast things were still on the table from Monday morning, the rubbish rotting in the kitchen, washing up piled up in the sink & no food in the house whatsoever.
Dh sulking because I had some family time.
Am having a v quiet day today...tomorrow London again

lazarou · 28/05/2008 10:47

You have to measure out some of it into a plastic bag on the scales. Then you pour some chemicals onto it. Then you put it on this machine called a stomacher, which mixes it all together. Then put pipette it out onto plates with another solid chemical on it. Then you incubate it.
Sometimes I also did taste panel, where you sit in a big kitchen on your own and get to try all the yummy desserts, dips and cottage cheeses, then you have to rate them. I loved that, especially all the chocolate puddings. The company made them for m&s, so you can imagine the fun I had.
