For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What a stressful day, Bero.

TooTicky · 10/05/2008 20:19

Glad ds1's finger is okay - ouch!!
Now, GO AND RELAX [stern]

stuffitall · 10/05/2008 20:59

Cyteen v good on binning loads of stuff ..I dug weeds and have similar feeling of progress

well the mangos were not quite ripe but still edible, the others will be ready tomorrow I think. so, mango, strawberries, tomatoes (many many many), carrots, onions, blueberries, mushrooms, banana. about 6-7

ur is he an ex because of he lost access to tiger poo?

I did mean dogging but it wasn't entirely unprompted by an earlier misunderstanding by Fran who after a morning flirting got the wrong end of the proverbial

fmf are you still feeling really fed up or have you managed to push it aside until you know the insurance situation

berolina · 10/05/2008 21:06

oh you mentioned wine... finished a bottle on Thurs (it takes me about a week to get through one, dh doesn't drink) and didn't really want to open another for a few days, but I know there is a mini-bottle of priosecco lurking somewhere in the fridge

I have had no F&V today. Apart from sesame-seed rolls. In fact I have hardly eaten. When my day goes pear-shaped, regular eating goes pear-shaped too. It's not any kind of disordered eating - just an extension of my disorganisation on these sorts of days. (Fear not, dses have been regularly and sort-of wholesomely fed) I am about to have tricolore spaghetti with parmesan and rocket.

stuffitall · 10/05/2008 21:08

know what you mean eating priority just drops doesn't it that's why am so impressed by continued feeding

parmesan and rocket sounds fab
we had chilli but with loads of chickpeas.. i think they count

UnderRated · 10/05/2008 21:09

He's an ex because he was an arse, really. Free Tiger poo would not have helped.

What can I do with rhubarb, other than crumble?

berolina · 10/05/2008 21:10

oh, chickpas definitely count. I love them.

are you (still) happier?

stuffitall · 10/05/2008 21:11

am on it
vodka

UnderRated · 10/05/2008 21:11

Yes, chickpeas count. I do the eating thing too. DS gets fed very well but I forget that I am meant to eat too. Or I know I need to and just can't face it. Or I go to the other extreme and eat everything in sight.

berolina · 10/05/2008 21:11

UR - make compote with it, eat some with vanilla or yogurt ice-cream and freeze some for future... er... crumbles

Fullmoonfiend · 10/05/2008 21:11

ok, so we have my best friend and her 2 boys over, bbq, 2 much wine, a fire pit and tThe Levellers blaring out, bubble swords and dancing and my boys are going next door for a sleep over - and we have our backs to our wrecked camper van....life is sweet

stuffitall · 10/05/2008 21:12

Fullmoonfiend · 10/05/2008 21:12

stuffitall · 10/05/2008 21:13

UnderRated · 10/05/2008 21:15

Compote & vodka it is then, thanks. My dad eats pigeons. I do not.

Sounds lovely, FMF - good end to a horrible few days.

UnderRated · 10/05/2008 21:27

No no, I'm not vegetarian. No need for backpedalling, I just don't eat meat or fishI would happily eat a duck that I had raised and 'dealt with' myself.

I'm hungry now.

UnderRated · 10/05/2008 21:34

I'm watching The Wicker Man. I haven't seen it before but I am concerned it may give me nightmares.
