For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Right before we veer madly off topic I have had some more grapes, another apple and another banana

dp has bought some Disney bananas
I expressed scepticism as to the need to buy Disney branded fruit and he said they were the only organic ones in the shop
I asked him to show me where it said organic and he pointed to the words "Origin - Windward Isles"

I think he needs a lie down

lol

This thread title has made me want tangerines now

Have eaten a massive salad for lunch...we have imposed a crap food ban for next week (Cadbury's habit getting out of control), so I'm looking forward to eating more fruit. Am usually pretty good, but there's always room for improvement.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 15:49

oh good luck with that cyteen
I am such a bloater I eat all this PLUS a load of chocolate

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 15:49

I am going to the gym though
I am
I am just having a quick lie down first

Does sex count as exercise?

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 15:51

I wouldn't know

cyteen · 04/05/2008 15:56

((F&Z's fanjo))

Tbh, I doubt the way we were doing it this morning counts...Sunday morning sloth sex. You'll get better value out of the cross trainer

Fullmoonfiend · 04/05/2008 15:58

kiwi and strawberries, and a massive bloater baguette sarnie with hummous, grated carrot, red onion, cheese, red pepper, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber.

home-made chocolate brownies...

Big roast with a gazillion veg for dinner coming up.

and rhubarb crumble

berolina · 04/05/2008 16:02

LOL franny Disney fruit though? Nothing like that here.

have just come back in from a lovely wander round central Berlin with the boys (fountains, boat-spotting on the river, stop for cake) and eaten rather a lot of watermelon. dh has just started some pumpkin soup.

berolina · 04/05/2008 16:03

(the watermelon, and one cucumber, cost dh 13 euros - I think he was rather shocked himself)

TooTicky · 04/05/2008 16:29

Blimey Bero, that is expensive!!

Okay Tigerfeet, will make you a mate in a minute.

Have we heard any more from MrsC?

I took ds1 swimming this morning and there was a big inflatable crocodile which kept him fully occupied and I swam 680 metres It's years since I've done proper swimming as opposed to standing in the water holding small people so I am quite pleased

Lully, you are mauvey/pinky/purply but in a nice way, like a pretty shell, with sparkly bits.

Fmf, you are black with rainbow sparkles and silver sprinkly bits.

BBBee · 04/05/2008 16:36

I did you FMF - I think you were purple - now you can go back and check and see it is all a sham as you hav changed colour

I have been on that family forest school thing we go on sometimes. It was fab - we did maypole dancing and made bird feeders and celebrated spring. It was all countrysidey. I feel like I have done loads of yoga.

lots of carrots and cucmber
3 apples
2 oranges

having sushi tonight - no idea how to do that fruit and veg wise.

stuffitall · 04/05/2008 16:58

just laying my trail
cauliflower, apples, lots of out of puffy gardening and furniture moving

Fullmoonfiend · 04/05/2008 17:06

purple and black! With sparkles! That does kind of suit my former gothy hippy turned rainbow sparkly persona

BBBeee, i only skimmed last night's loquaciouness. Doe you really see auras?

Fullmoonfiend · 04/05/2008 17:12

No BBee, I don't think yo u did mdo me last night

Does the colour mean anything? Or is it just that you associate people with colours?

TooTicky · 04/05/2008 17:15

Oh Fmf you must come here and we will go to a woodland place with a valley of rocks - it is mossy and magical.

UnderRated · 04/05/2008 17:24

lol @ the Disney bananas. That is quite shocking though really.

Been to the garden and planted leeks. My radishes, lettuce & mustard greens have not sprouted [disappointed]

1 banana (not disney or origin)

I am going to the gym
I am
I am just having a quick sit down

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 17:41

I've been
so ner

OP posts:
UnderRated · 04/05/2008 17:43

Gah. I'm still having a sit down. And another banana.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 17:46

ds just ate a Disney banana
"Mummy these are the nicest bananas ever"

dp smirking
I suspect a conspiracy

OP posts:
Fullmoonfiend · 04/05/2008 17:59

oh no franny!!

UnderRated · 04/05/2008 17:59

at the bananas. I do think caribbean ones are very good though but not because of Disney. Mine are from Guatemala and are delicious.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 18:03

poor ds
he ate a reasonable amount at aforementioned party and has spent the rest of the afternoon saying "I feel dodgy" "my body feels a bit crackers" etc
nothing specific he can say is wrong
dp and I have hunch it is sugar comedown type thing but it seems to be quite long lasting - maybe he is coming down with something? He isn't hot
he is very polite though which is slightly out of character and worrying
perhaps Disney bananas will cure him?

Just had to pop in and say I love the thread title.

When I was a child I always thought it was Mr Tangerine man!

Took me a few seconds to realise when I saw this that it wasn't a thread about the Bob Dylan song but another 10/10 thread!!

Always love your thread titles!

Anyway, ahem, as you were people

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 18:05

oh I have had lots of cabbage and broccoli
orange juice
been to gym - cardio a bit of a challenge now as can't actually use any machines with dodgy pelvis
however did some very very slow walking and some arm / back / shoulder / chest weight things
