For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Moustache is very impressive.

HereHairFear · 22/04/2008 20:33

Oh dear, Idris you're enlightened and I am a mean old bastard.

Sorry you're feeling down Franny, is it anything you want to talk about?

berolina · 22/04/2008 20:34

I'm sorry you're down, Franny.

I can't really join in the rest of the conversation as I am too fuzzyheaded. Have been feeling utterly, profoundly, desperately wiped out today and have spent large portions of the day asleep with ds2 next to me. Am not ill any more - apart from nausea, hich lying down eliminated -, but have fasted - few mints, water, peppermint tea. dh is home with something fluey and has had to look after ds1 as I've been in no state to. ds1 also not quite right ds2 is the most cheerful of us all but still has phlegmy cough Had follow-up dr appt for him today but slept through it fortunately we can go tomorrow.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 20:56

more raw carrots

Fullmoonfiend · 22/04/2008 21:07

For lunch I had goats' cheese tart with caramalised onions and sun blush tomatoes on a mixed leaf salad, sea bass on a mango salsa with green beans, brocccili, carrots, cauli, mange tout; fruit compote nd a ridiculous confestion of spun sugar on the top.

Surprisingly not terribly peckish now. Am considering an English Gentleman's supper of baked ham, home made bread, pickled onions and rather fine cheese....

OsmosisBanana · 22/04/2008 21:23

Right, no time to read all the posts, everything seemed fine at monday morning (which is where I read up to) anything going on?

I am making a dash for the title of QUEEN of F&V this week.

I am rediscovering Jamie Oliver.

Yesterday - moorish crunch salad involving
3 large carrots, 8 radish, 2 apples, sesame seeds etc etc. = at least 10. I also drank a whole acrton of mandarin/ raspberry / banana smoothie. I also ate a banana and some grapes.

possibly 15 or more.

Today I am on a similar target.

OsmosisBanana · 22/04/2008 21:24

Stuffit - thanks for my new name. I'm thinking about going to see the deed poll people n everyfink.

fishie · 22/04/2008 21:29

i am back again. have eaten precisely 2 portions yesterday, unless wine lake counts. i was at a work event and there were mini sausages, little goat cheese tarts and prosecco. later there was pub.

today is all much better, i have had tomatoes, many fruits, half a cucumber and some asparagus that my mum brought in lincolnshire. the passion fruit is nicely wrinkled too for tomorrow.

OsmosisBanana · 22/04/2008 21:44

Yay! I have a poorly Zip! Was your man on tv this week?

pinkspottywellies · 22/04/2008 21:45

Wow! I'm amazed! I've just been thinking about the May picnic and decided to look at trains. It only takes an hour, no changes. It'll be £18 which isn't bad and the day out will hopefully be cheap. What plans are there.

Oh god. Now I've just remembered the other thing I meant to ask. Am I invited? I've got TooT's paranoia!! But tell me if it's not paranoia but intuition. I'd rather know.

zippitippitoes · 22/04/2008 21:45
