For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! I am so

I've only been to Goa 15 years ago but I still dream about it (and particularly a potato and tomato dish which I've never been able to replicate adequately...)

IdrisTheDragon · 21/04/2008 18:03

I don't think I have, except for red peppers

IdrisTheDragon · 21/04/2008 18:03

I don't think I have, except for red peppers

stuffitllama · 21/04/2008 18:12

brilliant fmf ..will follow up recipe for you after 15 yrs

after hours of work have created a profile which will be full of detail later and some photos for a bit

but for now

TooTicky · 21/04/2008 18:12

Wow Stuffit!!!!!

May I preach? I was feeling so tired and useless, then I had a large plate of raw red cabbage, cucumber and tomato, wholewheat noodles and scrambled tofu and hallelujah praise the zing factor, I feel a zillion times better

Ds2 appears to be eating for England today - goodness knows he's due a growth spurt, poor skinny lambkin.

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 18:42

Thank you for all the dating advice. I am too old for all this!

My wireless internet is broken so I am crouching on the floor in a corner, plugged into the phone socket. V annoying. And expensive to get a new router.

Stuffit - that's a big move. Very exciting though.

Does FMF often see strange things in the sky?

It's only lunchtime but I've had fried rice w/ peas, corn & tofu. DS refused to eat it but I thought it was quite good.

FrayedKnot · 21/04/2008 18:50

Is stuffit moving to the Taj Mahal or the Brighton Pavilion?

BBBee · 21/04/2008 18:50

banana
satsuma x 2
1/2 pineapple
tomatoes on toast
2 yoghurts
2 mexican vegetable wraps

FrayedKnot · 21/04/2008 18:52

And a badge for BBBee too

Boco · 21/04/2008 18:53

Hello Bee, did you go back to school today?

Fullmoonfiend · 21/04/2008 19:00

UR - I was making a funneee about seeing the sun
FGS, people already think I'm weird enough....!

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 19:04

Sorry FMF - that's the problem with skimreading

Am glad you caught a glimpse of it. It's lovely here today - 20' and v sunny. That means it is the start of gun season. There were 32 shootings in the city this weekend and 6 people died. I hate living in a place like this.

Boco · 21/04/2008 19:05

Where are you from UR?

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 19:08

I'm from the UK but I live in Chicago. And reports say that gun crime is down this year

When the weather gets hot it peaks so it's only going to get worse.

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 19:11

And they've found DEET in our drinking water "Health experts said the level shouldn't pose a health hazard."

Very reassuring

Boco · 21/04/2008 19:14

How long have you been in Chicago? Do you want to move back to the UK or are you settled there?

I'm being very nosy today.

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 19:16

I love the city (apart from the guns and dodgy drinking water) but I don't want to live here. I miss home too much and my family. But DS is here so I am too. For now.

Boco · 21/04/2008 19:25

Can ds not move to UK with you? (sorry if I'm prying too much, just ignore me if I am)

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 19:31

It's a very long and complicated story, Boco. I can't post too much about it on here, but DS may have to stay here. For now, we're all together and happily muddling through and that's what matters.

zippitippitoes · 21/04/2008 19:44

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 20:24

6k? On hair?

ahundredtimes · 21/04/2008 20:34

I have skimmed. I have some questions - I have been away too long if I can't follow the 10/10 thread haven't I?

  1. is suffit moving to India or Brighton?
  1. Why is everyone telling UR to be polite to the elevator man? I think you should be quite sharp and calmly rude. He behaved badly and must be sent clear signals. [anne in a lift emoticon] Though actually I take my hat off to you UR. It was darn brave to go for lunch, I'd have cried in the car on the way there probably.
  1. What has Franny done to her back and what are the balls you all keep in your sheds and lockers and why is Franny cancelling appointments.
  1. Erm. That's it I think. But there were other confusing things too.
ahundredtimes · 21/04/2008 20:49

I have also eaten things. I ate four blood oranges, god they were really, really nice. And a kiwi, and apples and pineapples. Now a pineapple is an excellent fruit in my opinion. I like that Mark Twain quote about pineapples - something like, a pineapple is a grapefruit with ambition. Or something.

I might go google it.

ahundredtimes · 21/04/2008 20:50

In fact I prefer a pineapple to a mango.

Boco · 21/04/2008 20:56

I prefer a juicy pineapple to a cunting mango, but I prefer a nice juicy mango to one of those frustratingly woody pineapple.

It's a complicated business this fruit and vegetable game.
